Cyberpunk 2020 Hacks, One-shots and Campaigns

Boom Choombas!!! As the group is growing at a steady pace and we have a large number of novice edgerunners with a great interest in the dystopian future, I believe this is a fantastic opportunity to post some of your favorite Night City game ideas. An introduction to a new game, a recap of the one-shot that killed your PC, or maybe a campaign that keeps you coming back for more. We would love to hear what new tech, or mega-corp nightmare that has pushed you to the edge of the city. Is it the Eddies you love or the action. Give us the goods and share in your experiences.

Ally Madison, Netrunner. Legally blind. It was detected that she could actually "see" somewhat while in cyberspace in a way she could not in her real life. A megacorp kidnapped her, strapped her to a bed, fed her tranquillizing drugs, and put her to work on their mainframe, but gave her virtual 3D vision of such resolution and quality that she got addicted to it. The PCs were hired by a patron (relatives? a rival corporation? Take the money and ask no questions) to break into the particular facility where she was held and rescue her. Luckily it was a branch facility, a less secure run-down building than the megacorp's main pyramid. So they learn about the security features, real and virtual, learn to outwit them, everything is going well in the Extraction. The Netrunner "finds" Ally in cyberspace, as a stone statue, immobile, surrounded by chains radiating from her head. I came up with this years before dot.hack did it! The Netrunner can't interact with her, because she's drugged. The crew have to go physically to the hospital-bed where she is and cut off her IV. But there's just one problem... ...When Ally comes back to real-world consciousness, she's blind and doesn't want to leave. She herself sounds the alarm virtually , so they do manage to unhook her but it's a messy escape and an uncertain return to Ally back to a life she doesn't want. I called that adventure, "Blind Alley".
Pierre, That is awesome. It somehow has a ring to the Stockholm syndrome, as the runner becomes sympathetic, maybe not to the Mega-corp but to the VR she is trapped in. The title is perfect. I have to ask, have you seen Altered Carbon? There is a characters daughter that suffered a very dark Trauma that caused her to experience a high level of PTSD. Her memory is saved on a chip allowing her father to visit her on occasion, but her instability keeps her from re-entering a host body. I think you would like the series.

I have access to Altered Carbon and I saw, what, two episodes? Circumstances just interrupted me, it's not that it's not a quality show. In one of my favourite movies, UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD, people get addicted to recording their own dreams and playing it back, and suffer withdrawal if they can't, as in this short sequence if you watch for two minutes from the mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyAHkU7ObhE&t=8584
That's a great film Pierre. Not many people I've met know about it.
I'll have to check it out Pierre, and I watched all of altered carbon, it doesn't really get much better. It does some kinda interesting things, and the actor playing the flashback version of the main character is actually better, but it's a team up of 'action hero man' and 'fiery latina cop woman' which is both irritating cause they're absolute cliches but also because I would love to see a young latina woman cast as literally any other role. Seriously, they never are and I can't work out why. Poe is ace though, overly attached hotel boyfriend
