EDIT  It happens in lobbies that I am not a GM in.

As a DM I can still select sides, but as a player I don't get any menu.

As far as I know, that is normal behavior. I could be wrong, but I believe that menu is a GM feature.
I'm glad this feature is back, but in playing around found a bug, if you zoom out too far, and your cursor is outside the map region, it starts being pan again. and you have to move your cursor back over the map before it zooms
On panning with secondary click (here, Windows w/Chrome and right mouse button), I don't like that the action menu pops up when I'm panning.  If I right-click and release, I want the popup menu.  If I right click and pan, I don't want the popup menu, and it's annoying to have to left click to clear the menu while avoiding selecting something new (or unselecting whatever I had selected intentionally before). Separately, I'm in the "don't care whether there is a soft end to panning or not" camp. Thanks for the new pan/zoom options!

The Scroll effect for zoom/pan is only set to the canvas/map - meaning that, once the mouse is no longer over those, the page will go back to doing it's default expected behavior. In this instance, it's panning up and down cause the scroll bars are present.

Really like the new panning, except for the fact that the speed of the panning is confusing. Basically, I want it to be like Google Maps panning. When I pan, the point under my cursor should stay constant. It should be as if I put my finger on that points and drag the map around like a piece of paper. Currently, it moves too fast and the movement is unintuitive. EDIT: Actually... just make the panning work *exactly* as Google maps panning works. That includes inertia when the mouse is still moving and you drop the panning. Nobody complains about google maps panning, it's practically the standard. So use it.

Actually Google maps stops if the mouse is stopped when the button is released, but drifts if the mouse is moving when the button is released. If you look around the internet, you can find any number of people who prefer one over the other. You can also find any number of people who prefer accelerated panning or absolute panning. These are all minor matters of preference with no absolute right and wrong. If I had a vote, I would say that the pan and zoom works "fine" as is, and will be happy when dev time goes on to more mission critical tasks, like finishing the move to WebGL or finalizing whatever the replacement for Advanced Fog of War will be called. Honestly, though I might have minor preferences, none of these options is going to make my eyes permanently cross or shatter my carpal bones. This is "fine". :)

PC: Chrome: This update is as buggy as could be for me. I keep getting stuck in Pan View mode and have to toggle back and forth a lot to get out of it but then the interface thinks everything is a token and gives me the token options no matter where I click. I've had to refresh my cache 4 times in the last 10 minutes while working game prep. This is awful.
Could it be possible to have a toggle to turn off the +/- keys as hotkeys? I use them as hotkeys for other things such as PTT, it makes the ability to narrate as I am doing things on the board difficult.
Using Ctrl+Wheel over the Player images Zooms in/out both the map && the Whole page.
Having the Logitech Setpoint addon enabled in Firefox breaks the Zoom option, rendering it nonfunctional. It also causes the Pan setting to reset to the left side of the map every time you scroll.

However, we'll certainly keep that in mind for possible future updates to the Zoom tool. Thanks for checking in!
