LF Players: 5th ed, EST on Fridays, Rollplay Strongly Encouraged

Due to my temporary schedule change, the game would be every other Friday for the first couple months beginning possibly on the 14th of Feb. It can, however go on as long as the players want and start times are currently open. Switching to weekly ASAP. This would be a story driven epic with the players being the wildcard hand of fate and beginning at level 01. Corruption, politics, hidden agendas, great wonders and deadly foes await the players who can invest themselves in a world on the brink of massive change. This is a home brew D&D 5e setting with just a few house rules applied. Any age or experience is OK, just be mature, willing to RP your character, and plan to be in for the long haul.  Min-Max'ers, murderhobos, and chaotic-stupid  need not apply. This will be pretty big game accepting 6 or possibly up to 8 players using Discord for voice only interaction. Tell me briefly who your character is, what motivates them and why do they care (or why do they not care) if the world burns.
are you still looking for players?

I actually have a legitimate question, why is min-maxing a bad thing? I min-max life and am doing pretty well for it.
Min-maxing can cause a rough dynamic for those characters who aren't min-maxed. seeing as you could have one overly powerful character among many ordinary/lower characters. So as a DM you will have to either nerf that min-max or throw counters at them in order to have a chance against him but then that leaves the ordinary characters to fend for themselves and potentially die easily or be rendered useless. Now if you're going with all characters min-maxing it turns into a game where you're a level 1 player with the potential of level 20 play style and completely wrecking any encounter without the DM intervening. I have played a min-max character due to lucky rolling and my DM had to nerf me like crazy which was no fun because I felt targeted but I understoodwhy she had to
