Chapter 2 - Ride of the Red Wolves

Calix is taken off guard by the remark, and it shows on his face.  "I would not have let them die." He gives Magan a wary, perplexed look before glancing at Theli and the child and it fades, nodding shortly. The day has taken too many turns for him to keep up with at this point, but he won't argue this final twist.  "Thank you."   Giving Egon a final look, he heads back into the din to gather more wounded.
It was the second time Calix says the real one thing with Eadwyn there.  "A real one..." she mutters " I am out of herbs because I literally brought him back to life earlier... but I guess you were too busy making an oath to see it..." she turns to Magan, still deciding with who she was more upset.  "You are going to... now? why in the name of all the gods didn't you give it back earlier so he could have used it to chop that bastard head instead of giving him time to do... this?." she raises her arms in frustration " You men are so dumb sometimes that I thank Áine that she allow women to have control of what you do in bed... or there were no more childs if we have to rely on your wits... " she scoffs "men.. I will make sure she is comfortable during the night and go to fetch some herbs so I could heal her in the morning..."  She storms out and gets to tend the wounded to the best of her abilities.
Bar those who had remained behind when the fighting began, the wagons were mercifully empty of inhabitants when set alight. Instead, the dead all fell to the archer's thick-stemmed arrows. Aside from a couple who survived glancing shots, there is little in the way of wounded men. Nevertheless, Branok has Theli and Isolde sit on the grass so that he can inspect them and gives both a small wad of herbs to chew one.
