There
is not much on the game page as I need to get player input.
I
am looking for 4-6 players but honestly, 4 players make the best games
as everyone has a chance to shine. Game Sessions run for approximately
4 hours. I am usually always willing to play longer.
I
use full-color maps, provide access to top-down tokens and if I can
figure out how to get it to work in discord Syrinscape Sound effects
and music.
Some
things that I expect of players:
Take
the game seriously- other players are playing for this experience as
well.
Characters
die, it happens. I will not seek to kill players but it can and does
happen.
If
you choose to play an Evil character it must be understood that
betraying the party is not an option nor is PVP.
As
GM I am the arbiter of the rules- If you disagree with one of my
rulings feel free to speak up – especially if a characters life is
on the line, but if it can wait for after the session and talk with
me.
I
am here to provide a good time – please feel free to talk with
me at any time I will provide several ways to contact me through.
Also
I am open to in-between session handling of “Shopping” and other
such time-consuming activities that while necessary really bite into
game time. Also
Npc, player interactions that provide more depth for your character
are also encouraged. These can also be handled by text or a Discord
Chat.
This
game listing is for an upcoming D&D 5e game. I can run any of the
following campaigns:
Curse
of Strahd, Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Rappan
Athuk the dungeon of Graves.
Each
of these games offer something a bit different. If you as a group
would like to play a different Campaign, or even game feel free to
ask. All I ask is that the group cover the material cost for the
Roll20 conversion of the Campaign.
Curse
of Strahd is fun but limiting for the players.
Ghosts
of Saltmarsh- I have run many of the adventures in this anthology in
the past and it is my current RL 5e game that I am running. Very
excited by this game. I was very disappointed in the noncolor maps
but I am very adept at building beautiful maps.
This
game is set in the World of Greyhawk one of my personal favorite D&D
settings.
Rappan
Athuk the Dungeon of Graves is FANTASTIC and is a sandbox adventure
where you pit yourself against the dungeon. Characters can easily die
and should be considered a challenge. Good times. As
this is likely the least known adventure I posted its legend below.
The
Legend of Rappan Athuk The
Legend of Rappan Athuk is well known, told numerous times by bards,
adventurers, sages, and loremasters. It is summarized below. The
characters may know some or all of this legend. Many hundreds of
years ago, the forces of good allied to destroy the main Temple of
Orcus in the ancient city of Tsar. With their temple in ruins, the
surviving high priests of this accursed demon-god fled the city with
an army of enemies on their trail — an army of heroic fighters,
clerics and paladins — led by Zelkor, a powerful wizard. The exact
fate of these evil priests is unknown, for not only did the remnants
of the followers of Orcus disappear from all human reckoning, but so
did the army of light that followed after them disappear as well.
Some said that in the eternal scales the loss of so many good men was
a fair price to pay to rid the world of so much evil.
The
evil cult, however, had not been destroyed. The surviving priests and
their followers instead settled on a hill near the Forest of Hope, a
sylvan woodland near the Coast Road. There they found a vast
underground complex
of caverns and mazes, carving out a volcanic intrusion beneath the
hill. The priests of Orcus had found the perfect lair to continue
their vile rituals. For many years, they carried on in secret, hidden
from the light and from the knowledge of men.
Many
years later, their underground delving completed, the evil priests
erected a hideous mausoleum and graveyard atop the hill. It is
believed that these graves are the final resting place of the
pursuing army of heroes that had been destroyed to a man. Soon after
the mausoleum was erected the peaceful creatures of the wood began to
disappear. Though many rangers and druids investigated these
happenings, the cause of the creatures’ disappearance was not
immediately determined. Some years
later
a powerful group of adventurers, led by Bofred, a high priest of
Thyr,
investigated
the evil happenings and found the sunken graveyard leading to a
labyrinthine complex. Bofred and his companions found great hordes of
evil creatures in the complex. Though some of his companions returned
from their expedition, telling tales of fantastic treasure and
ferocious monsters, Bofred was never seen again — lost in the
catacombs beneath the cursed mausoleum.
For
the last century and more, ranks of adventurers have ventured to the
newfound dungeon. Many fell prey to bandits and monsters in the
s urrounding
wilderness. Rumors suggest that of those who survived to reach the
mausoleum and sunken graveyard, most were slain by guardians of green
stone or perished near the entrance. Those rare few who return from
deeper treks speak of horrible undead and creatures that cannot be
slain. All who have explored Rappan Athuk offer this one universal
piece of advice: “Don’t go down the Well.”
The
game start date and time is TBA I have a pretty open schedule and can
accommodate more than one group.
This
game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10.00
per session. Payable to grundvarg@gmail.com
via paypal. I prefer that players pay for the month in advance – I
only ever charge for 4 weeks regardless of any additional session
played due to a longer month. Session 0 is free. Other fees may be
required based on whether I own the material already. I will gladly
discuss any and all such prior to accepting a player in the group.
Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot
enforce any private arrangements.
