Tom Cartos map assets sizing question

To anybody who has bought any of Tom Cartos map packs, I noticed in the preview of his asset images the small and thin items like doors and tools didn't have the square empty space other market creators have around their images so they don't stretch and distort when you drag and drop them in roll20. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the smaller and thin pieces stay in shape or do you have to hold alt and manually resize them? I'm really tempted to buy some of his marketplace map pack but if I got to resize a lot of the pieces that'd be frustrating to deal with. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi Santa N. When using my assets, it is best to hold Alt as you drag them from your library on to the map. This ignores the default 'Snap to Grid' setting and ensures that they will maintain their intended shape and size. I choose not to include a large buffer area around my assets as some others do so that you can layer them on top of one another without too much overlap, making it easier to move them around after placement. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Tom Cartos
Oh that's a bummer. I think I'll buy just one set to see how it works out before i get more. I really like your marketplace set.

Thanks very much! Let me know how you find using them.
Hi Tom, thanks for trying to help with this. I just joined your Patreon and when I place a VTT map on Roll 20 from the library on a blank 1750x1750 page in comes in about 5% (on the map and backgrounds layer) of the total page, when I place it from the hard drive using drag and drop it comes in at about . I 25%. If I size the page to the image size it doesn't still seem to help. Is there a way to insert it and have it scale to the roll 20 grid size? Dragging it in with ALT onto the background layer still seems to try and make it token sized. Thanks for being awesome.

Unfortunately, I believe that sizing is a Roll20 limitation, not a refection on Tom's art files. Your best option is to right click the graphic after dropping it on the map (I suggest using the Marketplace version so it doesn't eat into your storage) and select Advanced->Set Dimensions and adjust it to the right size.
Thanks Aaron, I don't feel Roll20 compatibility is Tom's responsibility, I was just hoping someone had a trickfor this.
I know it's been a long while and I should have posted a lot sooner but The alt trick works alright for some items but makes some of them bigger then they maybe should be, such as tables being bigger than whole stands, but a little resizing fixes the problem. Over all the marketplace and bazaars pack I got has gotten a lot of use. Having quick shopping stands to drop in and out is very helpful for making something on the fly. I just wish the stalls had a listed sizing since some of them drop out very small and look like they should be bigger than they appear dragged out so it took some experimenting with tokens to see what looks about right. It's a great pack and while I can't guarantee I'll buy another pack in the future the marketplace & bazaars pack has a whole heck of a lot of untility so it's great in my book.
