@tracker Initiative without selecting a token

Hi, I'm new at Roll20 so I'm still learning a lot of things about it. Now I want to create a Macro that allows my players to roll initiative without selecting their token (they have and controll just 1 charachter) but I can't find a way. I tried to search, but I couldn't find something usefull. Anyone has any idea how do it? This is the Macro now: Gabriel INITIATIVE: [[1d20+@{Gabriel Mercer|initiative_bonus}  &{tracker}]] without a token selected gives this error You wanted to send the result of this roll to the turn tracker, but no valid token was selected! I saw that someone advice to not use Turn Order , but I don't know what or how and it is a post of 3 years ago, so maybe something is changed and improved by now. Thank you to anyone who will try to help me.

There isn't a way to do that without the API (a pro subscriber perk). The best you could manage would be to have Tokens in the Turn Order already, then have players roll in the chat and manually update their tokens. The draw back is that if you switch pages, you'd need to set this up again (only tokens on the current page show up to players, all tokens show to the GM). You could also use custom turns (click the gear on the bottom of the Turn Order, type a name in Item Label and click Add).  The advantage here is that they show up no matter what page players are on.  The disadvantage is you would have to adjust the values for each of your players' rolls in chat.
The Aaron is right, but since you're new it's worth asking to avoid a misunderstanding -- is there a reason you don't want them to select their character tokens? The tokens are extremely useful tools for the players, both as an informational resource and by adding lots of functionality to gameplay in Roll20. For example, if you feel like they're in your way, you can set the tokens to the edge of the tabletop, and the players can select them and pretty much ignore that they exist.
Thank you very much The Aaron and Chris. If we will keep using so much roll20, I think we surely take pro. We use token, but one lazy player wanted a way to roll initiative without selecting, so I tried to find a way. Have a nice day!
In many games, one character can have multiple tokens, each with its own turn/initiative. This is why the Turn Tracker is token-based as opposed to character-based.
