The idea is
to run two campaigns simultaneously where I DM one and you the other and we
play in eachothers. Something like playing twice a week on set days alternating
game. I’m male, Swedish,
32 y. I’ve DMed for a very long time in multiple systems but I’m still fairly
new to running it online. I’ve a group going currently in a fantasy setting
that I’ve spent some time selecting and who could be a good core for your game
if you want them as well. For this to work though we need to share views on
what a roleplaying game is and what’s interesting about it. If we don’t, that’s
fine, I’m glad you enjoy your take on it and there are thousand others on this
forum who’ll match much better with you than I do. I come from
a background in theatre, Nordic larp and story creation. The whole point of
this hobby for me is to create an engaging narrative, both as a DM and a
player. The one thing this medium can give that no other can is access to a full
roleplaying experience, where characters are free to form their own thoughts
and ways of expression, and evolve over time. And that’s what I love it for. For
combat simulation I play computer games since they are vastly superior at it,
and I’m only interested in RPG combat that adds to the narrative as a staple of
the story we’re creating. I enjoy multilayered stories that can be understood
and approached in numerous ways, characters with depth and co-creating the
sense of a living, believable fantastic environment. As such, I am generally
not a fan of the roleplaying systems that focus on being combat simulators with
roleplaying elements in the background. However there’s a point to basing the
game on a well-known system like D&D and mod out some of the outright
destructive elements about it, just for player accessibility. If the core
experience you’re after aligns with mine I can put a lot of time and effort
into making it work. Let’s talk if so and see where we end up. My discord’s Wiegenlied#9986.
I am not
actively looking for players at this point, although I’m up for additional
contacts if you think we share views. Finding players that can keep up interest
and also are interested in the actual roleplaying aspect of a roleplaying game
is tricky, and I appreciate a good contact list. However, I need to get the
framework down first (mainly finding a co-DM) before I can let the project
take off fully. Thank you for reading.
