Hi all, I have an outside map and i want to simulate a path lit by torches in the dead of night. I can't seem to figure it out, when i CTRL+L my players never see the torches lighting the path or light emitted by the other players also holding torches regardless of layer, or emits light, has sight, players see light. Maybe i have the wrong combination, i'm a pro subscriber so i have all options available. Please help.  also why are the lights showing a square instead of a circle radius? i have 360 degree set.

Control + L seems to be pretty good with allowing you to view light emitted from the token you have selected, but seems to be unreliable with light from other sources.  If you set up a character/token that you are specifically set as controlling, and then rejoin as player, that should allow you to see exactly what a player would be seeing.
Thanks Kraynic, but no luck. I must be doing something wrong. does the layer the token is on matter?
Mind adding me to your game as a GM I may be able to help out. Ill PM you my discord.

The test token needs to be on the token/object layer, or you won't see it as a player.  As far as the lighting you are doing, I tend to create my maps with static light sources (part of the image), and then use transparent tokens with a small red aura on the dynamic lighting layer to emit light.  Since I haven't messed with torch/campfire tokens in a long time, I don't remember if having them on the map layer vs object layer changes how emitting light works.

I will give this a shot thanks.
maybe i figured it out? if i choose "Represents Character" and choose the GMTest char i created it seems to work, this seems cumbersome and i'm likely doing it wrong as a torch should have to be linked to char sheet but i dont have a ton of time so i think i will leave it this way.
Also..... why is my light square? shouldn't it be circular? i put 360 degrees in...
