Family of beginners looking to hire DM for D&D 5e

Hi all! We are a family of 4-6 people (ranging in age from 17-57) and living in two households. We are BRAND NEW to D&D but understand the general idea and even have characters built. We need to find and hire a DM. We can pay $5 per person, per session. Again, we are completely new to this but we are very good-natured and easy-going. We live in the US Eastern time zone and the latest we can end play is 7-8 p.m. The day of the week or weekend does not really matter. Finding someone who is easy-going and able to both guide us and help us learn (aside from all the other things involved in DMing) is the main goal. We do not need intricate, in-depth fantasy worlds and maps etc., - just relaxed fun while we learn the ropes. We are committed to it and once we find the right DM we would want to have weekly sessions. We also very much would like to roll real dice (not sure how to make that happen remotely ... there has to be a way). Anyway, please contact me if you are interested in helping us out. Thanks, Carla
Hello,  I'm a DM with experience running games for new players. I have a setting that I've been working on for a campaign set on the high sea in the shattered remains of what used to be the world's equivalent to Atlantis. I was looking at charging a flat $20 a session, and I have no problem doing a free first session, where your family can get a feel for my style, ask questions about character building or the fantasy world, as well as do a little roleplay or combat to get a feel for how things work. I would have no problem with you physically rolling dice and saying the results, as there really is nothing like the sound of actually rolling dice. My one caveat is that the only day of the week I would be free is Sunday, but I am basically free any time that might work for you on Sunday. If that sounds interesting,  or you'd like some more details or have any other questions, please let me know! Thank you, Andrew Russo
Hi there I have been playing and running role playing games for over 30 years. I currently have several games going on a weekly basis here on Roll20. You can see game listings, rates, videos of live game plays, etc all on my website. You can visit my website by clicking the link in my profile. Let me know if you are interested.
Hi, I am a fun loving, relaxed, DM who only really has 3 to 5 years or so of experience in running DnD. However, I do have a lot of knowledge of the system and I am willing to do it for Free. Your play group seems like a fun DM opportunity.
Hey Carla, Firstly, it's awesome you're getting the whole family (or even two!) into tabletop gaming. I assume you're talking about 5e when you say you're looking for a game and it's a brilliant system to start in. A little bit about me, I am a professional DM based in the UK, but have quite the strange schedule and so am able to DM nearly any timezone. I have a tonne of experience running 5e oneshots and campaigns for groups, having DMd for 5 years on roll20 now with 7700+ hours. If you would like to find out more about me and my services, feel free to check out my  Roll20 profile  where you can find out more about me and further links to my other social media, and my  testimonials from other's that have played in my games. I would be more than happy to run a oneshot (a singular or few session game) for your group so that you can get a feel for my DMing style and what you can expect for a game. Currently I have a horror themed oneshot that is full of monsters, puzzles, secrets and clues, and has lots of twists and turns. This game lasts for about 6-8 hours and is usually done over two sessions (I don't think anything in it is too over the top for a 17 year old). Or I have a high fantasy story based on Jack and the Beanstalk, perfect for beginners and new groups looking for the classic 5e experience which only takes about 4 hours to play through, often less. I also do paid campaigns too if that's something you'd be interested in, but always recommend a oneshot first so there's no long term commitment. I charge £50 a session (which is about $60) and each session lasts up to 4 hours. I appreciate that this is likely higher than what you were looking to pay per session but thought I should over my services anyway as I have a lot of experience running newer players through the game and providing people with a quality service. All my games have dynamic lighting, premium assets, audio playlists, scripts and macros to make the game easier, and just give every game a really immersive feel. If you have any questions about my services, or would like a more indepth look at what I do, feel free to DM me or check out the links on my profile. Moreover, rolling dice in person would be no issue for me, if that's somethign you wanted. i'd just trust people were being honest. However, Roll20 in and of itself is a great platform with lots of great features that makes the dice system interact with all of the different facets of the game, meaning with one dice roll online you get quick results that would take multiple dice rolls and equations in real life. Regardless of which DM you decide to go with, I'd suggest you consider using the sheets and tools available in a properly supported game because it will likely make games run more smoothly, be more enjoyable, and give you more time to get into collaborative storytelling. Ofcourse though, play as your group finds most fun! Hope this message finds you well and that you guys end up finding a great game to get stuck into. Cheers -Billybob
I could dm, but your party and mentors, contacts and local resources would have to become Greyhawkified. They would enter my campaign which currently is centered around a pyramid, with locals speaking Arabic and French. I am available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 8am to noon, EDT.
