CLOSED FOR NOW, thanks for all who showed interest! Looking for 1 player for an ongoing Storm King's Thunder campaign on Roll20 and Discord. Sundays (skipping May 10th), 4-8ish PM, Central time (CDT/CST) (we usually skip the first Sunday of the month). Soooo me as a DM.... I try to stick pretty close to RAW/RAI. I definitely don't know every rule by heart though, so feel free to point something out if I miss it. If I disagree or am unsure about a rule, I'll usually make a temporary ruling then find a RAW/RAI answer later. My rulings definitely favor balance over realism. For me, it's a game, not a realistic combat simulator. House /variantrules: 32 point buy, max ability score=15 (BEFORE racial modifiers), I'll link to the calculator if anybody joins. Critical hits=max damage+regular rolled damage. For ASI's you can choose to raise ONE ability by 1 point AND choose a feat (feats are fun, and I do this to make up for 15 point maximum in point buy). I don't allow ANY homebrew or UA races, classes,or subclasses, not up for debate (revised ranger is okay though). Chalk it up to my insecurities and inferiority as a DM. There are some great ones but I don't want to sift through the not great ones. But I do encourage reskinning classes and maaayyybe switching out cleric domain or warlock expanded spells to fit a theme. Play a monk, call your ki grit, now you're a brawler. You can play a fiendish warlock, but have a fire genasi patron. Allowed books: PHB, DMG, VGtM, MToF, XGtE, and SCAG (no races with a flying speed). I've DMed in Faerun for a while, and I certainly haven't read everything published in or about Faerun, so if there are any differences between canon Faerun and mine, I'll probably stick to mine. I like the more classic fantasy, so no firearms for now. I am NOT a player vs DM gamer. I hate that mentality. I have a very low death rate in my 15 years (which some players love, and some players hate). I like to allow players to get attached to their characters, and for me, that usually means keeping them around. That being said, if your character makes dumb/risky decisions, I am happy to provide consequences. PvP.... ONLY if both PLAYERS are okay with it, and ONLY if the tension is 100% the characters, 0% the players. And it can't derail the group, and even then, I don't recommend prolonging it. Evil characters.... you can play a selfish character or one working towards a specific goal for themselves, but not evil as in actively working against the party, and not stupid evil. I don't really care about your alignment, just remember it's a co-op multi-player game. You'll start at level 7 (fun times). PM me with your ideas if you would like to join Draco Amicis . And definitely ask all the questions. A few paragraphs is enough for a backstory, you can do more, but don't send me two full pages. I will also run the occasional one-shot and allow anything published by WotC. THANKS!!!
