[LFG][5e] Need Advice

I'm really not sure how finding a game works.  I look over the campaigns, find a suitable one, post in the applications forum, then nothing happens.  I look again and notice there are dozens of applications for a limited number of slots, generally without reply.  So what is the right thing to do?  Post in a dozen suitable topics?  Post in this thread? Say someone is interested in me.  Do I get an email?  Do I have to look in the forum that I originally posted in? In any case, [LFG][5e] 51m, decades of experience, first 5e, first roll20.  Half-Orc Tempest Cleric.  Pirate.  Mark of Finding.  Available after 7pm EST.
Hey Tos! The forum format can be a little tricky, much different than social media. Hopefully this helps! So you're going to see 15 people competing for 5 spots. A DM will usually message the players that get in.  Tos said: So what is the right thing to do?  Post in a dozen suitable topics?  Post in this thread? Posting in this forum is great to promote yourself and increase visibility. Replying to other threads looking for players is also good.  If you see multiple games that interest you, posting in them helps. The more shots you take the better your odds of finding a game are. Typically, depending on your account settings, you'll get an email once you get a notification on Roll20. If someone responds to your thread, you'll get a notification. If someone sends you a private message, you'll get a notification. If you get invited to a game, I believe it's an email. That part I'm not sure of, I've always been on the DM's side of things for Roll20. I hope that helps! Best of luck with your future adventures!
Thanks.  This helps.

There are 100's of thousands of  players, sadly not so as far as good DM's are concerned. I mean really, it takes  tons more work to get a campaign up and going virtually vs not so much via face to face play. As a virtual DM you have to have your head screwed on tight when it comes to the amount of graphic work and prep involved. But my advise to you is, either DM, or just spam as many games with apps as possible.
