[LFP][D&D 5e][Eberron] Seeking players for an Eberron campaign

I am looking to GM for a group of 4-7 players interested in playing through the Oracle of War campaign ( http://dndadventurersleague.org/storyline-seasons/oracle-of-war/ ) set in Eberron and following DnD 5e rules. I'm a 35 year old college professor and have been playing DnD off and on since middle school, mostly with various homebrews -- this will be my first time trying out an Adventurer's League campaign, but the storyline and the Eberron setting are compelling enough that I'm excited to see how this goes. These Adventurers' League campaigns have a prescribed storyline, but there's room for the events to be changed / shaped by the characters, and I will strongly encourage roleplaying. Indeed, if the group ends up taking the story in a completely different direction, I'm happy to break with the Oracle of War storyline and let it go elsewhere. I'm interested in games that emphasize the collaborative, rather than the competitive, aspects of the game -- we're working together to tell an interesting story, not beat each other (that goes for players and GM). Eberron is full of Lovecraftian horror elements and pulp noir kind of storylines, and the campaign is a bit combat-centric at times, so I'm anticipating this will a very dark PG-13 / borderline R campaign. It's like one of those movies that probably should be rated R, but the studio makes them soften everything just enough to get more butts in seats. I'm willing to tone down the descriptions a bit, depending on the group's tolerance for such things. All experience levels welcome -- that goes for experience with DnD in general, and also experience with the Eberron setting. If you've never played Eberron but are interested in trying something new, reach out and I can make the materials that I have available to you through compendium sharing so that you can explore the Eberron-specific races and classes. The goal would be to play weekly, I'm suggesting Sunday nights starting around 9 EDT (each session approx. 3 hours). Night of the week is somewhat flexible, but the time slot is not. EDIT: if interested, post your discord ID and general experience level with DND and/or Eberron, and I’ll reach out there!

This sounds interesting. Mind if I join in? Lonosic#3454, Ive played DnD for a year, for Eberron if accepted this will be first time for m
Haven't played an Eberron campaign yet, but Lovecraftian horror is up my alley. I've got almost half a year of experience with 5e, and my discord is shmeh#2141. Weekends would be best for me.
Hello there saw this post and thought I would be interested. Killerfox#8039. I’ve been playing d&d 5e for about 3 years and have enjoyed everything about it. For Eberron I do know of the setting but have not really played in a campaign of it before.
Thanks, folks. For those who sent me private messages, I've responded there, and for those who sent discord IDs, I've added you (I am CarricEichenwald#7077)
Never played Eberron either. I'm definitely down to play! Discord Draxx#2165
I've never played 5e but have lots of experience with pathfinder and 3.5. I've been looking to try and learn the system for a while now. I've never played with the Eberron setting. (JustJake#8633)
Hi, I'm definitely interested in playing. My discord is Eldritch_Slug#8292. I've been playing for 3 years now

I just finished my first Eberron novel and I'm so hooked! I would love the chance to play in the setting. Played D&D as a young adult in he early 80's (yes, I'm in my 40's now) I've played tabletop 5e for a few years, and I've been overactive on roll20 for the last few months. Hope there's still room! Thanks (RealmSire#4137)
I'm interested! My discord handle is Skoda#5088. I'm fairly new to DnD with a few sessions under my belt. I don't have any experience with the Eberron setting but I do have access to Eberron - Rising from the Last War and I'm interested in exploring the content!
Hi, I've played D&D off and on for over a decade, but no experience with Eberron. Times day are great for me, my discord is conmigo#5308 thank you
Hello there! I'm interested if you still have spots to fill! Inquisitor#8262 Here for Discord. Still I have no experience with Eberron, but I do have 4 years of playing DnD in total (a pinch of pathfinder as well). Thank you for the attention!
12 person to post so chances are low, but yeah if you haven't picked 7 whole people yet I'm interested. Butterrobber202#1542 Read the Eberron book, and know 5e pretty well.
Ooooo...pick me, please! I'm TeaMistress#5893 and Eberron is my favorite campaign setting. D&D Experience: Approximately 20 years. I've been playing since high school. Eberron experience: Did a campaign that lasted a little over a year, followed by a few other Eberron campaigns in groups that fell apart due to GM/player availability. 5e Experience: 1.5 years - I'm currently in 2 online 5e homebrew setting games; one of which has been running for a year, and one that's been running for about 6 months. My gaming/RP style: I solemnly swear that I am up to no good in it for the long haul. I like long, in-depth campaigns with a lot of lore, interesting characters, and the opportunity to RP and really get to know the other characters' backstories and motivations. Bonus points if the campaign has a text RP Discord channel for light character chatter between sessions. I show up on time, am there to have fun and help everyone else have fun, and am turned off by the "fully-optimized, fuck the GM, I wanna break the game" sort of player. Character ideas - campaign dependent, of course: 1) The chaotic-good, friendly necromancer or Grave cleric scholar who is really into osteoarchaeology and has a deep-seated hatred of standard necromancers because their gross zombie fumbling wrecks the historical significance of gravesites for future generations. 2) The gregarious sea-loving Tempest Cleric who would be on a ship right now enjoying the salty breeze if those evil bastards hadn't sunk it and killed her partner in the process. Someone owes her a whole bunch of payback and even more money. Do these jerks think ships just grow on trees?! 3) Elven or Eladrin Coldfire Bloodhunter (Order of the Profane). She will end you and look irresistibly broody doing it. 4) Claw Claw Bite Shifter Barbarian (Path of the Beast [UA]). She's young. She's adorable. She's a little bit feral sometimes. Umm...just don't get her mad. 5) Knock Shit Over Shifter Monk (Way of the Open Hand) No, I mean it; don't get her mad...unless you enjoy being on the ground with her crouched on your chest hissing. And even if that's your thing, she's not old enough for that, so just die already, OK? Seriously, though; please pick me. <3
