Pearl Ivy, the Brooklyn
Brigade’s PR Agent, is preparing to release an announcement proclaiming the
Brigade’s warehouse base as The Bunker. Paladin does not want that name,
connotations to where Adolph Hitler died, and suggests that The Prometheus
Foundation allows a corporate sponsor name the base or run a contest where the
winner gets to name the base.
Kismet interviews with Lacey Bradley,
owner of Racks, for the job as a waitress/model. She is offered a place to live
at Enchanted Dreams Inn but she declines because she has to live in the dorm at
Empire State University
for her first year as a student. Kismet leaves everything that she does not have
at the dorm in her room at the Brigade’s warehouse.
Kismet, under her real name of
Kaitlynn Jones, is to come back and spend a couple hours in the stocks in
A-Room so she can watch how business is taken care at Racks. She is also given
a menu and drink list to memorize for the restaurant.
Marvel Girl and Paladin
contact Air Burst (MG met him at the fight in with the Daleks at Bushwick Inlet Park)
to see if he wants to join Brooklyn Brigade. He says he does not want to join
but he will help whenever innocents are in danger. As Air Burst is leaving he
passes four rough looking creeps coming in.
When the creeps see Paladin they says, ‘there he is! Kill the m****er
f*****er!’.
Marvel Girl does not get
involved letting Air Burst and Paladin fight the creeps who turn out to be
vampires (making heavy use of Sun Block as it is 10AM). Two vampires are
knocked out and two escape. Officers O’Malley and McDermot take the Vamps into
custody and call PART.
That evening they resume
staking out Manfred Saietta and his family. They decide to focus on Julianna.
They discover that most of the Saietta family live in one palatial mansion on
the edge of town. They learn that Julianna works out a lot and is probably an
enforcer. They also learn that the Saietta family is very deep into
incest.
Thursday August 16, 2018
The day is uneventful. Marvel
Girl contacts Pearl Ivy to see if there is any PR events she can attend. Pearl looks around and finds that a group of (rich) civil
war enthusiasts and collectors are meeting in Manhattan Friday night. Pearl gets MG an invitation. MG buys an
expensive dress (on the Prometheus Foundation’s expense account) to attend.
Kismet reports to work that
night. The night is profitable and she sees how the restaurant operates. As
Kismet comes to work she sees Deirdre Buckley
and a dozen members of the CWA (Concerned Women of America) protesting Rack’s
treatment of women.
The food and alcohol at
Rack’s is easily 5-Star across the board. One of her perks of working there is
free meal per 8 hour shift.
Kismet gently gets to know
some of the staff and makes inroads in learning more about the rest.

A light rain has been falling
all day. A group of the collectors go to
dine at Rack’s. Marvel Girl goes with them, she likes their food. While they
are at Racks Albert Christen Benjamin
takes a part of the Hopewell
device and shows to Marvel Girl. He tells her a bit of the device’s history and
how he would like to see the full device rebuilt.
Just at that member Neutron,
Arc, Wyvern, and Ankylosaur enter the restaurant. Neutron says, “So would I,
which is why you are going to give it to me.”
A fight for possession of the
part ensues. Kismet calls Air Burst and Paladin from their post staking out the
Saietta Mansion.
