Troubleshooting Severe Lag, Seeking Help on Performance Issues & Optimization

Over what feels like perhaps the last 2 weeks, I've been dealing with what feels like a growing issue of lag and generally slow responsiveness from the site (more specifically the VTT) while running two groups through their games (both going through Roll20's Marketplace purchase 'Curse of Strahd,' but in different campaigns / games).  Before I get too far, let me say I have looked at the zendesk help article here , and I'm going to post my computer specs and internet speed down below.  While playing with friends, I typically have 5 or 6 tabs open in Chrome in addition to Discord, OneNote, an Excel spreadsheet, and a Microsoft Word Document. I am currently working with Legacy Dynamic Lighting and Advanced Fog of War, and I can promise that on some maps in 'Curse of Strahd' that it is simply NOT workable which actually upsets me quite a bit.  I feel that with the hardware and internet connection I posted below I should not be having the issues I have been having.  I am also a Pro user, and if this keeps up I am going to simply have to write Roll20 off entirely and move to "Theater of the Mind" until another site introduces a more optimized VTT.  If someone could help me with Tips, Tricks, weird hidden features of Roll20 or Chrome itself (or a previously unknown feature on my Desktop PC), to avoid having to switch from Roll20 to somewhere else, I would really appreciate it.  A small note, but I am not trying to come off as anything other than desperate as I *like* the idea of Roll20 and learning it's ins and outs, but I am experiencing problems that is making it not worth the money or the time.  I may not have mentioned everything that people need to know to troubleshoot this, but I'm also trying to avoid both a deluge of information as well as red herrings.  Thanks in advance to anyone and everyone that can help, with a double shot of thanks coming later!  #anxious   Internet Speed: 205 mbps Download and around 6 mbps Upload (despite comcast telling me I should have 10 or more) My Computer Specs CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor  CPU Cooler: Corsair H150i PRO 47.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler   Thermal Compound: Noctua NT-H2 3.5 g Thermal Paste Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 AORUS ULTRA ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING Video Card Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic Razer ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic PRIME Ultra Titanium 1000 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Full 32/64-bit  Monitor: Asus PG279Q ROG Swift 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Monitor  Keyboard: Corsair RGB MK.2 Low Profile RAPIDFIRE Wired Gaming Keyboard Mouse: Logitech G502 HERO Wired Optical Mouse Headphones: SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC  Headset Speakers: Logitech Z623 200 W 2.1 Channel Speakers Custom: Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mousepad ($29.99) Custom: X-Box One Game Controller plus extras Custom: Corsair LL Series LL120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan 3 Fan Pack with Lighting Node Pro Custom: Corsair LL Series LL120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan 3 Fan Pack with Lighting Node Pro Custom: CORSAIR iCUE Commander PRO Smart RGB Lighting and Fan Speed Controller

First of all, I haven't played these purchased modules, so I'm not sure exactly how large the maps are, how many dynamic lighting lines are being rendered, etc.  With that said, just as a test, have you tried running one of the games with dynamic lighting alone without AFoW?
Hey Kraynic, thanks for your reply!  I actually have, though that was earlier on and I admit to not having issues at the time, though I felt that the map looked so much better with AFoW in combo.  Currently I've been trying to use just AFoW, though that was still an issue.
AFOW causes performance issues, unlike dynamic lighting. These issues seem worse on Chrome, compared to Firefox. It is best to leave the passive aggressive comments like "I am also a Pro user, and if this keeps up I am going to simply have to write Roll20 off entirely and move to "Theater of the Mind" until another site introduces a more optimized VTT. " to the other forums.

If you feel the need for people to be able to see at least some portions of places (or maybe important rooms/intersections) where they have been, you might try the Light Crumbs trick from the Stupid Tricks thread.  It might require fewer resources than AFoW.  If you haven't checked out that thread, there is a lot of stuff there, and there might be other ideas you might want to make use of.  The first post is an index.

It's an honest statement and I am frustrated as I mentioned.  If you have a problem with it, kindly find somewhere else to post.  Your feedback is not appreciated or constructive.

The two most common fixes (or biggest problems, depending on how you look at it) that a user can take care of are: A) ensuring that AFoW and Global Illumination are not active at the same time and  B) Turning off Autofill and Autocomplete in their browser settings (admittedly more of a Firefox thing) Beyond that, the usual advice is: Reducing the number and size of maps Reducing the number of character sheets and the number of spells on those sheets. Avoid running multiple instances of the game in the same browser. Prepping as much automation as you feel comfortable with.  Chat Menus  for common commands, Token Action buttons on all NPCs (easy with this script ), and anything else you can do to reduce the amount of time you spend dealing with the interface.
Hey KeithCurtis!  Thanks for the advice.  If I can ask, does Archiving pages you will not be using for the current session help?

Unfortunately, not at all, other than reducing the amount of pages you have to deal with. Archiving pages, handouts and characters only hides them to reduce clutter. They are still all loaded into memory. However, as a Pro user, you have access tot he Transmogrifier, an invaluable tool that among other things, allows you to maintain a  Library Campaign .
