Shadowrun 6 Sheet (German, work in progress, translation EN later)

As a member of the Pegasus Support team I decided to create a Shadowrun 6 character sheet in the beginning of April. As the sheet has reached a playable, but not yet fully comfortable state, I wanted to present the current situation My mother tongue is German, thus I decided to create everything in German first, but with i18n in mind. When all the basic features are done, I will look into translation as well. Current Status / Supported: Sheet Header (condition monitors, edge management, generic rolls [attacks, defense, soak, initiative, attributes/skills], options [gm rolls, roll modification, wound modifiers, exploding dice and an action monitor)

Attacks (melee weapons, range weapons, spells to be done; with consideration of more complex options like complex ammo (REVO rounds e.g.) and complex damage changes depending on range (laser weapons e.g.) Melee Weapons Range Weapons

Skills (considering conditional fields for specialisations and expertises and their rolls, functions for resetting and collapsing/expanding for skills w/ skill points, not considering magic/resonance only skills yet) all skills collapsed

There is yet a lot to be done: Magic Matrix / Resonance Gear (focusing on armor sets and soak) Contacts Character Background Advanced Configuration But I'm pretty happy with the current state and its development over the last weeks. I will check how to hand out it over to the Roll20 team soon.

Here is the other SR6E sheet in progress: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8627771/shadowrun-sixth-world-character-sheet#post-8789761" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8627771/shadowrun-sixth-world-character-sheet#post-8789761</a>
Hey, friend! I, too, am working on an SR6E sheet. I'm kinda loathe to abandon progress on it right now, but could consider it in favor of focusing on one to make sure it gets done. You can find my current code here , which uses Pug in order to build the templates. I haven't focused on roll templates or auto calculating fields much yet, and instead focused on finding everything a player would want inputs for.
Also, you can see where I'm at on my trello board . It's taking me a while because I've refactored a few times so that I could get rid of a lot of code smells, but I think by today I should be done with the "Complete Sections" card and will start to move on to the Overview page, and start getting my calcs wired in.

Hey chummer! I'll take a look in the next days, probably send you a PM for a talk via Discord or whatsoever.
Thank you for working on that sheet. Our hardworking gm build a good one in german language with the basic stuff too, but the matrix part I need for my technomancer is what I miss pretty much. I whish I would be able to help.

As I deemed the sheet ready to be used, I sent it to the Roll20 team this week and you can check it out as well. The coming version will include functionality in the magic section including ... a) magical skill rolls b) adept powers c) conjuring Pictures! The "Eingabemodus" buttons are toggling and offer an input field for the rule text. In order to stay in line with the rules, you will have to fill in your adept power descriptions, spell descriptions etc. on your own. Spirit rolls will automatically roll for the summoner and the spirit and your drain. Spirits have a general action button for their actions, you have to be aware of their pools on your own.
Hey, Avalia, I just want to thank you for putting this up. Unfortunately, I don't speak german (I'm Brazilian, btw), so I can only hope for an eventual translation to English, but I'd like to thank you anyway :- )

Right now there is an issue I don't really understand: A newer version of the sheet was merged into the official sheets The character sheet got all the new functionality as expected. The translation file was renewed as well (see&nbsp; <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/blob/master/Shadowrun6th-German/translation.json" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/blob/master/Shadowrun6th-German/translation.json</a> ) But the character sheet itself does not consider the new translation ... sorry for the inconveniences.

Usually the weekly sheet updates are done on Tuesdays, and that includes Roll20 running some scripts related to translation files, and this seems to not have been done yet(was noticed with another sheet). So part of the sheet updates where released prematurely, without the translation-related updates, and hopefully they will fix things today, at the usual scedule.

Hello Avalia, today I tested your sheet for usage in the Conspiracy 3 Event ( ;) ) and implemented the stats of my newly designed Mage and there was something wrong with the Drain. The "Würfeln" button in my spell list used Willpower + Intuition for Drain and I did't found the "Hermetic (Logic) or Shaman (Charism) choice.

I have no idea, why it is listed that way. The term "Shadow Run" is not used at all.
English: Just started a new game to check out the new hotness since I'm currently in a Shadowrun campaign that tries to run SR6 on an SR5 sheet here on Roll20 and found the sheet in the condition you find below. I'm assuming that's not what it's supposed to look like. Probably has something to do with translations? German: Hab gerade mal ein neues Spiel aufgemacht, um mir den neuen Sheet anzuschauen, da ich aktuell in einer Shadowrun-Kampagne spiele, wo wir verzweifelt SR6 auf einem der SR5-Sheets spielen, und fand den Sheet in dem Zustand vor, den man unten sehen kann. Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das so nicht aussehen soll. Hat wahrscheinlich was mit den Übersetzungen zu tun?

There are three tabs in the character sheet setup in Game Settings: HTML, CSS, and Translation. There is a third file you need to copy from GitHub and copy into the Translation tab: translation.json From Google Translate: Das Charakterblatt-Setup in den Spieleinstellungen enthält drei Registerkarten: HTML, CSS und Übersetzung. Es gibt eine dritte Datei, die Sie von GitHub kopieren und auf die Registerkarte Übersetzung kopieren müssen: translation.json
Non-pro account users don't get that option, sadly.
Ah, it looks like there is a problem with the translation file in the Roll20 setup. See this post above: Avalia said: Right now there is an issue I don't really understand: A newer version of the sheet was merged into the official sheets The character sheet got all the new functionality as expected. Finally found time to look for the reason ... somebody else introduced French translation for his own purposes and destroyed the original sheet ... going to undo it soon.

FYI, apparently my effort to externalise the CS and make it available in other languages has somehow broke the German version. I'll rework those changes so that we can externalise the CS properly.

@Avalia I've finished rebuilding my changes on top of yours. I would like to submit the content for you so you can review it and test it, to be sure that, this time, nothing is breaking on the German side (I did some tests using the Custom Sandbox Sheet, but better double check it). Can you point me to your own fork of the Roll20's github repo ? Is this one existing under the username Yagrima ? If so can you update the master branch of this fork so that it matches the current content of Roll20's master branch? This will allow me to fill a readable Pull Request against your repo for your review. Thanks!

@Avalia any news? Do you need any help? I can fixup things on my end and update the Pull Request? I can also rebase it if it helps integrating. Note that I'm waiting on this to provide an English translation and maybe rename the CS from Shadowrun6th-German to plain Shadowrun6th.

@Belaran: Sorry, family issues in the last days. I included all your input from the pull request and changed some dashes "-" to underscores "_" as mentioned. Some minor corrections might be needed. Once we have a status that works in German, English and French, rebasing is a good idea, I guess.

@Avalia I finally had the opportunity to come back to the translations of the CS. There is still a few not externalised value, I've fixed that up and set up a PR:&nbsp; <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/pull/7350" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/pull/7350</a> It's small stuff, so I would suggest you just review it over there and let me know if you want me to change something. If not, Roll20 will merge when they come to it. With those last changes (unless you modify again the CS), I think I can start working on making the CS available in English. I'll keep you posted.
Happy to help with translation into English if there is a need. Looks like there is already some work on that. If it's a simple matter of editing a JSON file I can definitely help.

That, or you can email <a href="mailto:cassie@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">cassie@roll20.net</a> to get access to CrowdIn, which Roll20 use for managing sheet/translations, that requires no fiddling with with json files or github.

@Brad K Reviewing the translations file and ensure all the strings are translated in English would already help a lot ! Feel free to set up a Pull Request against my fork if you want me to review the file (I know German and did the french translations, so I may be able to catch a few issues if any in the translation).&nbsp; IMHO, I find Crowdin (the non JSON file editing option) a bit a pain in the ass, but you may like it :) Also note that the next step to fully translate the CS in English (and French) is to create roll-template where we can externalise the few words (like Drain, Damage, and so on) being used during rolls. I plan to do that.... the minute I have the time. But if you are familiar enough with Roll20 CS to do it please do!&nbsp;

Belaran said: IMHO, I find Crowdin (the non JSON file editing option) a bit a pain in the ass, but you may like it :) I prefer github as well, but Roll20 keep saying they prefer translations being handled there once the templates have been created, and it's much easier for less technical people to do than having to figure out github, so it ought to be mentioned. Also note that the next step to fully translate the CS in English (and French) is to create roll-template where we can externalise the few words (like Drain, Damage, and so on) being used during rolls. I plan to do that.... the minute I have the time. I've done this a couple of time in the past and think most larger sheets with translations &amp; roll templates also have done this, so there should be plenty of solid examples on how to do that. I've also updated the i18n Translation wiki page recently with more examples and info on integrating translations to sheet, so can be worth a new look.

Back and alive. Last months gave me little pause to go on with the project. In between I recieved a Spanish translation as well and will implement it with the next update of the sheet.

Hi Busta. As far as I am aware, I am not allowed to enter any relevant data. I am allowed to make room for a user to enter data themselves. Thus, I appreciate your offer, but I feel like this is not necessary. Ich darf keine Spielinhalte im Bogen fest implementieren, deshalb haben zum Beispiel die Felder für Zauberkräfte oder Zauber einfach nur Eingabefelder statt fest hinterlegten Templates. Or that Pegasus does not want to work anymore on the character sheet? @busta: Regardlesswhat Avalia just said, we can definitely use you. Right now the character sheet is German by default and it should be switch to english by default, which means a lot of data entry and this is why I've been procrastinating about it. Here what needs to be done: for each German text in the sheet.html that has been propertyby a properly externalised (so having the attributr i18n-data), you'll need to one Replace the German text by the english one (normally available in the translations/en.json Check that the German text is indeed present in the translations/de.json Apart from the text of embedded inside the dice roll (like the label for drain or success), you should be able to remove most of the German text. Feel free to start by doing just a couple of strings and submit a pull request for me to review. So we can spot potential issue before you do the all file!

I guess, I misunderstood something there. If you were referring to translations, see above at Belaran's post. I was mainly talking about filling in game descriptions and rule texts from the books. When I asked Pegasus, I was kindly asked not to include these, thus I created "empty" fields for the user, thus it can be done on its own.
I have to admit I was selfishly more interested in supporting the project in the direction of getting a fully functional sheet, where rigging, equipment, etc. will also work, at least in the beta version, as I would like to use it for my playgroup myself. From that perspective, I see the translations only secondarily. Sorry for that. But is there any way to support in the direction of bringing the sheet further forward?

Well, if you are an adept developer and want to create a first version of the rigging sheet (or gear or connections or ...) - be my guest. I am currently doing all the matrix things, thus there would be no real overlap. If you are willing to do it, you can also contact me via Ismaire#6827 in Discord.

It's quite fine to be selfish ;) and if you have the skillset to implement rigging (or matrix actions), please go ahead! That being said, making the CS english first is also smart on the long run. Right now, because it"s explicitly describing as German, only German speaking are using it. Despite french translation and english translation being available, I'm pretty sure people are not even trying it. That mean that there is large community of users that could contribute feature, bug fixe, even more translation that are not contributing. To make matter worse, I'm afraid that someone will just end up forking this character sheet or simply create a complete new character sheet, with English by default. Once this happen, most of the community will go to this new CS and Avalia's work will be most likely abandoned (which we'll be a shame). So making the CS english by default is not the most direct move to improve it, but it will help on the long run.

And, of course, talking about it, made me want to do something about it. So @Avalia can you look at the content of this branch &nbsp;on my repo? Let me know it seems fine to you and I'll carry on with the rest of the character sheet (as much as I can). (Remark: I wanted to open a Pull Request against your fork on Github, but the master branch seems to be too much out of sync the content of Roll20 repository. If you fix that I can open a Pull Request against your repo so you can simply review and merge it with the changes you are working on)

@Avalia: you can use the names of Spells odr Items and the Attributes locked to them but not the descripotions of them, like in Genesis.
