Can we limit what level the player creates a char?

I added the Pathfinder template to my 1st level campaign. I assume the player once added, goes into their Journal and adds a character. Then they do the char creation on the sheet. I do not know if it restricts them to only what is appropriate. I also only want them to be able to create 1st level.

There's no restrictions. You'll have to give the sheets a look over when your players fill them to make sure they aren't fudging the numbers.

OK, So I'll tell them to go to some tool like <a href="http://www.pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.pathguy.com/PathfinderCore.htm</a> and generate the char. Then they can fill in the sheet from the generated page. Cool.

@Steve for Pathfinder there are a few different character creators out there both free (PCGen) and paid (Hero Labs). They are helpful for newer players and GMs, but do have their own learning curve and limitations. It can help as a "double check" if needed for some players as well.
