(3.5) Ravenloft, seeking players     copied from my gitp post, you can find it here . Hello folks, I am interested in running the 3.5 Ravenloft module, and am looking for ideally 4 but at a maximum 5 players to participate. Here are some key facts before you read the B16 DnD 3.5 is the system Games will be conducted on Roll20 Games will happen on Sundays 12:00pm US Central Time to 6:00pm US Central Time Please use this thread to post your character sheet, link the mythweavers page. You may use the notes section on your mythweavers page for a backstory, but as this an adventure module with a prewritten development, your personal motives and history shouldn't preclue your character from participating. Don't go overboard. I will review posted characters over the course of 1 week. Characters invited to the game will receive a private message from me informing them that they have been accepted by next Friday. I intend for this game to encompass the Ravenloft module but no more. I expect that the campaign itself will last 3 to 4 months. THE BIG 16 1. What game system are you running (D&D, Call of Cthulu, Palladium, GURPS, etc.), and if applicable what edition (Original, Classic, Revised, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.)? DnD 3.5 2. What 'type' or variant of game will it be (i.e. "Shadow Chasers" or "Agents of Psi" for d20 Modern)? What is the setting for the game (eg. historic period, published or homebrewed campaign setting, alternate reality, modern world, etc.)? The Expedition to Castle Ravenloft module. 3. How many Players are you looking for? Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many? 4, possibly 5 4. What's the gaming medium (OOTS, chat, e-mail etc.)? Roll20 5. What is the characters' starting status (i.e. experience level)? Level 6 6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with? Standard wealth by level applies, since you start at level 6 thats 13000 gp with no single item worth more 25% of that. 7. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc. that you want... or do not want? What are your rules on 'prestige' and/or homebrewed classes? No Homebrew, No 3rd Party, no Dragon Magazine. Adventurers start @ level 6 so prestige will likely come into play for characters at creation. Any prestige class in WotC authored DnD 3.5 books are allowed provided you meet the requirements. There are going to be lots of undead so Scouts and Rogues are gently discouraged but are not out of the question as they are useful outside of just precision damage. Tome of Battle is fine, even psionics are allowed provided that they stick to material found in Expanded Psionics Handbook and Complete Psionics (no Psionics Handbook ). Psionic races are allowed but I will not abide that half giant psionic tripper. 8. What races, subraces, species, etc. are allowed for your game? Only Core races, Eberron Races, Racial variants from Unearthed Arcana, Races and variants from Players Handbook 2, and races introduced in Races of Stone, Races of Destiny, Races of the Wild, and Races of the Dragon are allowed. 9. By what method should Players generate their attributes/ability scores and Hit Points? Standard hit points for 3.5 characters are in effect. 10. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so? Good characters will get more out of this adventure, evil characters are still viable, however, but expect to encounter a lot of brutal and horrific evil in the game. If that doesn't compel your character to act, then you should have another good reason to be here. 11. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it? Multiclassing is allowed as normal for 3.5 (penalties in effect for characters that incure them) 12. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game? Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them? Roll20 has a program to handle this and if you are not familiar with it, its easy to learn. 13. Are there any homebrewed or optional/variant rules that your Players should know about? If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules. There are no applicable variant rules in play at this time. We will not be using taint rules. 14. Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular (i.e. the backgrounds all ending up with the characters in the same city)? Keep it to a paragraph , and keep in mind the adventure begins with you already enroute to the land Barovia with the other adventurers. Your motives for adventuring are your own, of course. 15. Does your game involve a lot of hack & slash, puzzle solving, roleplaying, or a combination of the above? Even mix. 16. Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material? What sources can Players use for their characters? Keep it WoTC authored books . No dragon magazine, no 3rd party, no homebrew, no pathfinder. Heroes of Horror is allowed and possibly even encouraged. Material from Frostburn or Sandstorm is not allowed except in the case of spells that also appear in the Spell Compendium. Just as a final note, reading the campaign module will ruin the fun so don't do it!
