As though in answer to Brimblebread's prayers, the long room through which Capricornus had been retreating contains a large number of crates, bags, salvaged lumber and, indeed, food. Mostly in the form of grains and dried meat. In the room to the right, thick layers of animal hides insulate the walls. A ragged bed draped with threadbare silks and thick furs rests in one corner and three stout chests serve as furniture, cluttered with empty liquor bottles. A few more bottles lie scattered about the floor, leaving the room reeking of stale alcohol. Two of the chests hold bedding and other miscellaneous items, including a bolt of burlap cloth, old clothing, an iron ring, and three crudely stitched leather masks. In the third chest, is a large quantity of gold and gemstones, along with a pewter belt buckle depicting a pair of entwined succubi and a silver charm bracelet. Down in the cellar, the bandits appear to have been stockpiling their ill-gotten goods for months. The majority of the wealth kept here consists of mundane trade goods like pelts, furs, tobacco, iron, bronze, miscellaneous weapons, armour, adventuring gear and tools, which must be worth thousands of gold pieces. In addition, one chest contains several thousand coins, while another large bag contains various pieces of stolen jewelry. Enough resources to found a small community... As promised, Capricornus's corpse is thrown into the waters of the Shrike, prompting the undead bridgekeeper to lurch up from the river to grab the bandit's body and pull it down into the water forever. Once Capricornus has been given over to the river, the revenant's masterwork ranseur washes up onto the shore at the feet of whoever tossed the body in, a final gift from the grateful undead. Back at Orion's, word of Capriconus's defeat is spreading across the savanna and an envoy from Appolis soon arrives with the heroes' promised reward. A chest of gold and a new charter to establish their foothold in the north!
