RuneQuest: Adventures in Glorantha - looking for players interested in playing?

Hi everyone, I am a recent returnee to RPGs (currently running a Traveller RPG) and am looking for a group of players interested in Runequest and exploring the world of Glorantha. I am looking to run a game in a few weeks - maybe once a week or fortnight. I am in the UK, so starting around 7pm is good for me. I have currently Wednesday or Thursday evenings free. No experience of Runequest or Glorantha required - we can all learn as we go along! I played Runequest some 30 years ago and have always loved the setting, so if you want to don your armour, pray to your god and prepare for adventure in a land where myth and legend are real then step this way... A little more information for those curious about this game. I will be basing the campaign on Six Seasons in Sartar campaign book. You will be a young member of the Haraborn clan and will experience life in the clan as you enter adulthood. This is a great way to learn the game system as your character grows and has new experiences and get to know the world of Glorantha...
Potentially interested in it if we do Wednesday, as I am free at that time for my time zone. Though I have to ask: which version of Runequest are you running? I'm looking at it, and there's a few different books so I have zero idea what to look at before I make a decision.
Hi James, it will be using Runequest: Adventures in Glorathna - it is the latest version from Chaosium. There are some free quick-start rules to give you a flavour... best not read the adventure though: https://www.chaosium.com/content/FreePDFs/RuneQuest/CHA4027%20-%20RuneQuest%20Quickstart.pdf

Been wanting to try out Runequest for a while, and both Wednesdays and Thursdays are good for me. I do have a commitment on the 30th, but after that I should be free on those days. No experience with the system, but I know a bit about the Glorathna setting, and I tend to pick up new systems pretty fast.
Hi Lasse, that sounds great... I will let you know when we could be starting...
Tentative expression of interest! I've not played Runequest or visited Glorantha in 30 years, but I've also not RPG'd in that time either, so am beyond rusty, and to be honest I was more of a reader than a player back in the day anyway. I do own a copy of the Quickstart rules for the current edition and am looking at picking up the full rules. Wednesday or Thursday are fine, and whilst I can just about do 7pm it is pushing it. So, not a firm 'yes' at this stage, but I'm certainly interested.
Hi, everyone looks like we may have enough for a small group of adventurers... If we look to Wednesday then as a potential day. Mike P - if we pushed it back to 7:30 would that be easier? The quickstart rules are fine to play with I can share any spells of other information you may need. Looks like we will all be pretty new to this edition of RuneQuest so we can all learn together... Let's see if we can firm this up a little... I will post elsewhere as well and see if we can pick up a couple more players...
7.30pm UK is better for me, yes. However, I can make 7pm if it's needed - it would just be pushing it. I spent yesterday evening going through the loft looking for my old Runequest books, and was reading them long into the night. I guess that means I'm definitely in!
Excellent - great to have you onboard

Do you have any plans for when to hold a session 0 David?
Hi David, Highly inetrested in trying Runequest. I played RPG for 20 years now but din't get a chance to try that game. Timing is perfect for as i'm in Brussesls. I'm gonna check the chaosion link you post. Hope to ear from you soon.
Mike P, Mike & Lasse W, excellent that makes us four altogether - enough so we can plan a start. Yes, a Session 0 will be good - so we can chat and get to know each other as well as talk about the campaign and generate characters. RuneQuest Glorantha is built on the RQ2 engine but the adventurers generally start far stronger than they used to be. I am going to be using the ‘Six Seasons in Sartar’ campaign setting. This starts your characters as younger members of a clan just reaching maturity – I think it is a good way to get to know the game and is a gentle introduction to Glorantha and its many oddities… The year is 1618, the Lunar Empire still occupy your homeland. You will be members of the Haraborn Clan of Sartar, a small isolated clan living in a deep valley. The campaign will start with your initiation into adulthood and from there you will experience raids, hauntings, heroes, intrigue, and more… Meeting up to create your Haraborn clansfolk would be excellent and I can share some more information about the setting. I am a returning GM – I have not played Runequest for 30+ years. I am currently running a Traveller campaign. So the next step will be to plan a session to get the ball rolling…
1618 you say....very good. I am feeling a little uncomfortable being dumped into 1625 as it is, so a more gentle introduction would be welcome. The last time I gamed was before the age of the internet, so I have no real idea how this works. I presume we're playing on the Roll20 platform so will get up to speed on that. Will a plus or pro account be required or desirable?
I am pretty new to Roll 20 myself - there is a really good Runequest Glorantha character sheet. I have a plus account so we should be good to go...
So no, Mike a standard account is fine :)

How does this Wednesday sound - 29th - 7:30 GMT - for character creation and so forth..? Link to game https://app.roll20.net/join/7934261/y1EUiA There is a very useful character sheet there. Don't worry about mechanics I think we are all new or pretty new to the system and so will find our way as we go. I have also been running through the system to get a feel of how it all works together and played a little solo adventure which I wrote up on my Google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RN860TC6l5-s2I22_4PZxmXkk7kJ_nUq?usp=sharing
Wednesday at 7.30pm sounds great. I can't see the character sheet on the page, which either means I just can't see it (likely), it's not there (unlikely) or my free account is stopping me from seeing it (possible).
Let me check - i am pretty new to Roll 20
Can you see them now?
No. I can launch the game or start a new topic, but that's about it. I'm going to upgrade my account just in case it's that.

Here is a discord link - easier to chat on and will probably use for voice (depends what you all want to do?) [Mod: Link Removed]
I dont think that should be a problem - must be my end...
Well I'm plussed up anyway. Can't see anything different but I feel superior to those F2P freeboaters so all good ;)

Don't worry GM, I'll take the hit for the team ;)
Ops, a social faux par already :) Thanks Mike...
Hi everyone - looks like we have four players ready for Wednesday... 'Every year has its seasons That mirror the ages of the gods I sing to you now of the six that bring the days of the Haraborn to a close' Six Seasons in Sartar, Book 1, Verses 31 to 32.
