About :  In -3869 DR a young charismatic priest rises to power in small fishing village named Gers. Years later he would unify the surrounding villages and create the alliance of Seventon. He renamed his budding kingdom Netheril, his namesake, and it would grow to become the mightiest magical empire the Realms would ever know. This campaign follows a group of adventurers during Netheril's nascent years. Their successes and failures will influence the formation of the legendary Netheril Empire. They will navigate political intrique, confront eldritch powers, discover long-lost wonders, and unravel ancient mysteries. Time Zone:  Arizona Time (yes, it's a real time zone) (MST) Day(s) of week, frequency, and time:  I am available weekdays after 530 PM MST, and pretty flexible on weekends. Hello!  Your game sounds interesting and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring.  My name is Nick.  I live in EST/EDT time zone and am available Friday nights.  I have been playing 5e for the last five years or so and love in depth character creation and backstories.  Faerun is a great backdrop and I like that you distinguished that you invest in your players' characters.  Too often do I find games that ignore player characters for sake of the main story the DM wants to tell, rather then integrating them. A brief character description is as follows, though I am open to playing anything.  This is just an example. Wood elf Samurai Fighter (Haunted One background feature). Mythandir Whiteowl grew up in an elvish kingdom learning the ways of the sword and bow.  As a wood elf, paths were limited due to historical tension between the high elves and woodland kin.  But in efforts to break down barriers, wood elves were allowed into the guard.  Mythandir joined and eagerly accepted his new position, which came with the benefits of travel to previously excluded areas.  However, not everyone wanted the wood elves to integrate.  And vile court wizard sought to disrupt this new alliance and use it as means for a power grab.  Wood elves started to go missing from the guard and unrest between the races arose.  Mythandir was sent as part of a task force to investigate and discovered strange demonic like creatures attacking the woods.  Upon further investigation, Mythandir himself was captured by the wizard and made privvy to the dark secrets.  The court wizard had been attempting to bind fiends to the souls of these taken elves, releasing them into the wild to wreak havoc on the lands.  Mythandir became the next subject, and when he awoke, he saw a town in ruin, with dead bodies everywhere.  A strange traveler stood above him and offered his hand.  Mythandir could feel something inside of him struggling to get out.  Locked inside him was a friend, and the strange traveler offered to take the elf with him and reach him how to control this creature so it could be a boon instead of a curse.  Realizing it was his only option, Mythandir left with the strange traveler to learn self-discipline and the art of the samurai...so he could prevent the inner fiend from ever taking control again.
