(Steve) Game Summary for Sunday Evening (07/12/2020): Opening Scene: It is now 30 days into the adventure (since
setting off in the Belle Venture), and August 24th, 12:00 pm on day 26 on the
isle. The party leaves the biology laboratory and
decide to get familiar with more of the Forbidden City. The pass throught the
Temple district in the north west section of the city, having a look at the
various occupied buildings and see areas where mongrelmen and bugbears live
then come to an old abandoned market square area. Area description: The
square is 50 ft x 50 ft in size, The rotting remains of several stalls are in
semi-orderly rows, creating corridors characters can walk down. Moss and vines
hang from the walls and torn canopies. Several clumps appear quite large, but
there is no sign of movement. As
the party approaches the center of the square a couple of the ‘clumps’, have
moved to get a jump on the party. Only Maevis was surprised. The ‘Clumps’
are Shambling Mounds, appearing as a
heap of wet and slimy, rotting vegetation, the shambler is actually an intelligent form of
vegetable life. It is generally from 6’ to 9’ in height, with a girth of about 6’ at its base and 2’ at
its summit. Initiative
rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins! Shambling
Mound #02, missed Grax with a slam attack! Shambling
Mound #01, slams Cassandra for 6 bludgeoning damage! Cassandra,
reacts defensively, parrying as she retreats. Shambling Mound #01 gets an attack
of opportunity slaming her for another 6, inspite of the Parry move. Parrying
reduces a non-warrior character’s armor class by one-half his level. Warriors
who choose to parry reduce their armor class by one-half their level plus one. Because
Shambling Mound #01, had hit Cassandra twice now, she rolls a Saving Throw Vs Paralyzation rolling a
2 and needing ≥ 13, failing the save! Cassandra is now entangled and encased in
slime and will suffocate in 4 rounds and took another 9 hit points of damage! Grax
using his magical gauntlets of fencing, swings his magical Merthúvial +1
long sword at Shambling Mound #02 but missed! Xilicien,
casts the Magic Missile spell at Shambling Mound #01, with four missiles
hitting for a total of 17 damage! Maevis,
can’t attack until next round due to being surprised. Rowan,
swings his short sword at Shambling Mound #01 hitting for 5 damage! Camlin,
swings his halberd at Shambling Mound #02 but missed! Coal,
swings his magical +1 long sword at Shambling Mound #01, hitting for 2 damage! Sheila,
swings her magical +2 footman’s mace at Shambling Mound #02 but missed! Phicenta,
casts the Burning Hands spell at Shambling Mound #02, who fails his Saving
Throw Vs Spell rolling a 5 needing ≥ 13 and takes the full 21 hit
points of damage! Round

Mound #02, tries to slam Sheila only to miss her! Shambling
Mound #01, tries to slam Xilicien and missed him! Cassandra
makes another Saving Throw Vs Paralyzation rolling a natural 20 needing ≥ 13! She breaks free of the entanglement and
slime! Grax,
swings his magical Merthúvial +1 long sword at Shambling Mound #02,
hitting for 11 Damage! Xilicien, Casts the Melf’s Minute Meteors spell at
Shambling Mound #01, sending 4 of them at the creature who fails his Saving
Throw rolling a 12 needing ≥ 13, causing 21 hit points of damage, and
defeats the creature! Maevis, Swings his magical +1 long sword at
Shambling Mound #02, hitting for 13 damage and defeating the creature!
