Just wondering, because I'm new to running a roll20 game, if I use the dice roller as gm would it show my rolls only to me? I ask because I like to keep my rolls secret from the players too keep them guessing.
If you mean the dice roller on the top-left toolbar, it has a GM button on the top left you can toggle on to roll to yourself (or whisper to the GM if you are a player). Any rolls generated by a character sheet will follow the whisper settings from that sheet. And any rolls you type into the chat bar will need a /gr or /gmroll at the start instead of /r
No, the advanced one does not, so you'd have to input your rolls a different way. You can type them into the chat window, and as long as you proceed the roll calculation with /gr it will whisper the roll to the GM. Like "/gr 1d20+5" would roll a d20 and add 5, but only the GM would see it (although I think the players can see that the GM was typing).
