Numenera Interest Check - Are there enough people here to run it?

PLEASE NOTE: NEW RECRUITING FOR THIS IS NOW CLOSED. We have 20 players, thanks for your interest. We have players now forming up into a sort of Numenera "Guild" to play out a series of "One-Shot" scenarios. Each scenario will have 5 players per session, so as not to be too crowded per session. I will run as many sessions as I can per week to try and accommodate everyone. There will be a US Time Zone Friendly Group, and a Europe Friendly Time Zone Group. Numenera is the relatively new Science Fantasy Game by Monte Cook, set on Earth, a Billion years in the future. The Ninth Age has come to earth, where 8 previous great civilizations (both human, and alien races) have come and gone. What ruins and technology has been left over from the past have been inherited by the present, including those bold adventurers who stride among the rubble-strewn streets of the ruined cities of the past, trying to comprehend what wonders the Ancients knew, and controlled. This game is very similar in style to Gamma World, except it is centered more on a party explorers, with medieval technology, and some scant lost technology of the past, rather than tribal savages. Likely Days are Fridays, and / Or Saturdays. But I will ruin as many sessions as I can. This group is friendly to new players to Roll20, and also to the Numenera System.
I'm very interested in playing this game again though I'm not experienced enough to GM'it. It is a wonderful game indeed
Id be interested in playing, depending on the time and party.

I have the Core Book, and most of the supplements. I've run other narrative games, and come to this from Gamma World (All editions.) There are a few character generators: http://www.prime-junta.net/numenera/cyphergen.html and http://darkliquid.co.uk/playground/numenera/ and 3lb games' at-table tool / Char Gen ap: http://www.numenera.com/character-creation-app/
I've known nothing of Numenera, however after taking a quick look through their website, it seems very interesting to me.

I'd be interested in playing it, I'm a complete noob, but I'm pretty good at picking up systems :), but it of course depend on day & time. I'm good for Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Time is Central (UST -6) Also, Hi Ghost, Hi A.P! Watching RP R&D Character creation seems pretty straight forward. But I'm poor so if anything, I'd just like a list of all the descrpitor descriptions (there are a lot more not in the player book) if I get that, then I'd be golden
Sounds like a lot of noobs. Maybe some one shots are in order so folks can get a handle on the system?

One shots will be how it is set up at first, until I can teach people the system.

Felix P. said: All I have is the core book. So any other rules or anything else out there, would be on each player's initiative. One shots sound interesting. I like that idea. I'll aim for that. Ah, well I caved and got both the character options and player guide so I'm good *Also have a character in mind :P This book makes getting ideas so easy

I'm interested in joining you guys if there's still space :D But I'm also a beginner and have only read some bits of the corebook.
okay so time zones? I'm EST but I'm flexible. I can go a little earlier like say 5 PM EST if there are UK people, but that would make it pretty late for them. But my target zone would be 6:30 or 7 PM to about 9:30 or so up to 11 or so. Day is flexible. Some saturdays would be out if we do saturdays, I run a star wars SAGA edition on irregular saturdays.
This would by voice via skype or google hangouts, don't care. In game if we can get it working, but my experience it it doesn't typically.

I'll write up a one shot, and pitch it. Whoever likes it can sign. As I've stated, I come at this as a long term Gamma World player so the cyphers idea is not a big deal to me, I'm not worried about one shot powers all that much, I don't anticipate problems. It's all science fiction, anyway. My key point for players being work with me, I work with you. Let's all tell a good story. So maybe a few one shots till we get a handle on it. I do like electronica music and sort of new agey ethereal stuff for setting, so if that is not your preference, you probably won't like what I'm going to have for themes.
I'm in the UK so a 5PM EST start is the latest I can do assuming the session lasts around 3 hours. I can do 3-4 hours if it was on a Saturday.
How about Fridays, 4 PM EST? That's UK 9 to 12, assuming a locked down three hours. Anyone else have input? I can do saturdays, but I have a Star wars SAGA game that sometimes runs saturdays. It's a big group of 7 players so scheduling is a problem for it. If we do Saturdays, it's likely every two weeks for this Numenera at that point.
I can do Fridays with the exception of next Friday since I'll be in the process of moving >_<
I'd like to start the 20th, that gives me time to study it all thoroughly and create characters. The maps are fascinating. Really does recall the elder Gamma World.

I made an LFG listing. Looking to see and find people who can fit into a group of max 5 players per session per one shot, with a late afternoon / early evening in common where we can do this. I've written some basic sketch history working on the first one-shot scenario which I will post at the following in a bit. Even if you can't make it to the first scenario, i'd like to form a sort of guild that wants to play and or be taught this game over time, by way of one shot scenarios. There will be more one shots to follow until we find a group that can get along that works well as players and characters, that likes my spin on the setting, etc. Here's the LFG listing. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/14508/numenera-...

I have no idea what itmejp is. Here is the looking for player listing. If you want to get in on a one shot, hook up there. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/14508/numenera-... Six people have character concepts already posted. Since this is new system for most, it's not necessary to get a character concept in to Get Into the Pool of Players. It will be necessary to get a character together to actually play, though. I can help with that.
it is a series of one shots at this point to teach the game, so you might not get into the first scenario, but you will be able to get into one eventually. click the link above, post just above yours.
We now have 14 players for Numenera: The Awakening. It's a sort of Learning Numenera "Guild". I have rewritten the top post accordingly.
I'm game for a one-shot.. I have the book, but have been unable to find a group..
Nick, S. Welcome. join us by posting here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/14508/numenera-...
NEW RECRUITING FOR THIS IS NOW CLOSED. We have 20 players, thanks for your interest.
