[LFP] [Free] [D&D 5e] Short Campaign

Edited 1602253381
I ran this short campaign with my friends as one-shot, now I added some more content and hoping to run it again with new people. Players (level3) will try to discover the secrets of the ‘normal’ mansion. I encourage roleplay during my campaigns . While there are several encounters, it is possible to solve most mysteries without any combat - if players want that. But again, you can just fight , if you prefer a more direct approach. Time: Thursday - 8 PM EST. Session zero at October 8 - Campaign starts at October 22 Player: 1 player slot open, +18, new players welcome Roll20 for map and combat, Discord for voice. If interested, PM me about Your experience with DnD 5e or any other ttRPG Your experience with Roll20 and Discord Your preference for combat/roleplay ratio - heavy combat, heavy roleplay, or equal

I'm estimating 5-7 sessions, but honestly it is hard to guess. If players want to explore the mansion on their own without asking any hints or fight every monster, it might take longer. Or they can just solve every mystery easily and finish much earlier than anticipated.  As for plot, it is mainly a murder mystery. You will have a map for a mansion and will explore every room to discover clues about different secrets. Idea is to solve as many secrets as possible within a week. So you will have a deadline in the game. PM me more for info, if interested and we can talk.
Your experience with DnD 5e or any other ttRPG - I have been involved in a 5e campaign for about 6 months now. only experienced one other one-off before that Your experience with Roll20 and Discord - We use roll20 for every play as we've been on line due to COVID-19 Your preference for combat/roleplay ratio - heavy combat, heavy roleplay, or equal - I'm looing to experience new ways so no real preference at this time
I tried to send a PM, but for some reason I got an error alerting me that I didn't have the right permissions. Thus, I'll post here: Heya! I saw your post that was looking for players for a short campaign and thought I'd see if I was the type of player that you're looking for. :-) Please see below for the answers to your specific questions. > Your experience with DnD 5e or any other ttRPG I started playing D&D in the early 90s, starting with 2nd edition. D&D was a bit of a fad back then and I loved the cartoon. My sister was dating a guy who gave me his D&D books, and that's how I got into it. Reading through the DMG was just an amazing experience, as I imagined all the adventures that could be had. I convinced a few of my friends to be players, and we just started making stuff up. The entire adventure was homebrew, and extremely ad-hoc. We played all through high school before going our separate ways. Went away to college in Atlanta and discovered Dragon*Con. There I met a bunch of local folks who were playing, including another guy who liked to DM. We took turns running campaigns for about five years before I moved out of state. I moved to WA state for a job out of college and dropped D&D for a bit. Eventually I learned about a local group that one of my friends was in and joined. Played in that campaign for a few years, then took a turn as the DM. Ran a 4e campaign, a 13th age campaign, and am currently running Shadowrun. In between running those games other folks took turns as the DM, which I love. They've run Savage Worlds, 5E, and one of the superhero systems but I don't remember which. While I love DM'ing, I also enjoy playing, and would love to scratch that itch with a short campaign. > Your experience with Roll20 and Discord I'm using roll20 to run the Shadowrun campaign. Honestly I mostly use it for the battle map and rolling dice. I haven't used it much at all for things like character sheets, player handouts, etc. Mainly my experience is much more logistical - setting up macro buttons for common things like soak rolls, uploading and tweaking (and tweaking, and tweaking) maps and tokens, dynamic lighting, measurement tool, etc. We moved to roll20 in March due to the pandemic, so basically just took the game and moved it online. We already had character sheets and such, so as mentioned only really using roll20 for the dice and the battlemap. My discord experience is pretty limited. I'm on a few discords, but I use them mainly for text chatting about video games. > Your preference for combat/roleplay ratio - heavy combat, heavy roleplay, or equal I'm super flexible. I love puzzles of all forms, which can include tricky combat. I am _terrible_ at voices, so my roleplay is more in the content than the delivery, but I enjoy it as well. As long as the players at the table are having a good time, then I'm cool with just about anything. The whole goal of the game is to have fun, so if that's happening then everything else falls into place. ------------------------- Thanks for considering me for your game! I'd be honored if you selected me, and if not then I understand and hope that everything runs smoothly for you and your group!
Thanks for your interest! I will send a Roll20 link for both of you, and you can decide whether you like the setting and the custom rules. If you're still interested, we can talk more on Discord.
One slot is free for the fourth player. We will have a session zero tomorrow. PM me, if interested.
