Greetings! I am Raul, and I have been working on a campaign for quite some time now, and I'm about ready to go ahead and start it. I already have a few GMs and quite a few players lined up, but the more the merrier. Before you ask, yes I did say GMs plural; the server is intended to work as more of a group collaboration, since there will likely be far too many players for any one single GM to handle. By splitting the load, GMs don't need to feel rushed or like they're on a set schedule, and can plan quests and sessions how they see fit, with as much time in between to rest as they need. Additionally, since there's multiple GMs, we also allow all of our GMs to double as players if they so choose. (Of course, they can't be players on their own sessions, but they can be players while attending another GM's session). The format will be ran in a manner based off of, but not identical to a traditional Westmarches campaign: Players and GMs get together to plan a one-off session/quest, start at a central hub, go off into the wilderness to find adventure, and then come back to to the hub when they're done. The main difference is that we employ a 'Quest Board' where a GM thinks of a suitable quest or session, passes it by other GMs to make sure it's reasonable (No sending level 1s vs. the Tarrasque), and then players sign up for it. If you're concerned about my experience or concerned about this style of campaign, I have personally ran 2 campaigns similar to this, and have been an upper-level mod for a 3rd campaign all run in this style, with one of the campaigns that I ran lasting nearly 3 years. Each time I make a new campaign I take my experience from previous campaigns and refine the ideas. If all goes according to plan, you'll be able to find sessions on a daily basis, or if you're a true glutton sometimes multiple sessions per day. No experience is required. We're open to new GMs and new Players, though we would request that you familiarize yourself with the basic rules before you start running your own sessions. Most of the setting is now concrete, and I plan on being able to start approving character sheets in about a week or two, and starting sessions shortly afterwards. The administration of the campaign will be ran through Discord, since it fits our needs more, but most sessions will be ran in Roll20.
