Weekly Gaming Summary Part 28: (10/18/2020)

Thank You For Playing today's game 10/18/2020 - From 8:15 EDT, until 11:00 pm EDT, and our 266th Gaming Session, goes out to:   Barbarian – Human Female – Zhora & Cleric – Human Female - Sheila - Chris M.   Cleric / Thief – Human – Dalnoth - Gabe G.   Magic-User - Elf - Xilicien -  Devin M.   Monk (Oriental) – Human –Lo Shan -  Roxxifarius       Whom Could Not Make It Today!   Paladin Knight – Human – Lord Cromther - cromth   Ranger – Half Elf – Camlin  –  Buddy-D   Ranger – Half Elf – Pavel - Mark D.     Game Summary for Sunday Evening (10/18/2020):   Opening Scene: It is now 35 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and August 29th, 1:30 pm on day 31 on the isle.   The adventures are in the process of exploring through a military warehouse, with stirges used as guards. They had moved to the west wing, in a triangular shaped area. Two stirges were spotted and taking care of with arrows from Pavel and Zhora, startling the remaining 3 from their perch, they see the party and look for an opportunity to attack and feed on blood!   Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins:   Stirges #05, #02 and #01 are flying around awaiting an opportunity to dive on an adventurer!   Xilicien, the Sheila, stays back for now.   Dalnoth, awaits at the doorway, off to one side, while letting the bow users do their thing first.   Pavel’s arrow from his long bow just missed Stirge #05!   Zhora, nicks Stirge #05 with an arrow for 1 hit point of damage, with her composite short bow!   Lo Shan, moves closer to the melee!   Camlin and Lord Cromther, stay back for the moment.   2 nd Attacks for Round #01:   Pavel’s arrow, goes wide of stirge #05!   Zhora, tries to fire an arrow at Stirge #05 but fumbles the shot, stumbling and falling to the ground for 5 rounds when a dexterity check of 17 needing ≤ 16 is rolled!     Round #02 of Combat!   Strige #05, Tries to swoop down and bite Zhora but missed!   Dalnoth, gets an attack of opportunity for being on guard for Zhora, his rapier strikes Stirge #02 for 5 slashing damage, sending it to the floor dead!   Stirge #01, swoops down on Sheila but she dodges the attack, it almost slams into the floor in the process but a dexterity check of 13 needing ≤ 16, indicates it stays in the air!   Xilicien, stays back.   Sheila, slams Stirge #01 with her magical +2 footman’s mace for 5 bludgeoning damage, sending it crashing to the floor dead!   Dalnoth, slashes Stirge #05 with his rapier for 3 damage, defeating the creature!   End of Combat!   Shiela, heals up Camlin using two of her Cure Light Wounds spells, healing back 6+5 hit points!   The party sees that the triangular room housed more swords and knifes on racks and javelins in barrels.   Dalnoth, moves to the ceter set of double doors on the east wall to look for a trap and did not find a trap, rolling a 48% needing ≤ 50%, so he picks open the lock successfully, rolling a 53% needing ≤ 77%.   Opening the double door revealed a hallway with another set of double doors at it’s end. Dalnoth checks for striges, perched on the ceiling and does not see any after rolling a wisdom check of 9 neeeding ≤ 17.   The party moves through the hallway to the other double doors and Dalnoth, rolling a 22% ≤ 50%, did not find a trap and then successfully picks the lock rolling a 57% ≤ 77%!   It turns out that it opens back to the outside, with grass on the ground and open sky above.   The doors are closed and the north set of double doors are looked at by Dalnoth for a trap. A 23% is rolled   ≤ 50%, and no trap was found. The lock is successfully picked open on a roll of 62% ≤ 77%!   It is another room, that has pillars holding up a 20 ft high ceiling with a stair case that goes up.   Dalnoth and Lo Shan goes quietly up the stairs, Lo shan rolling a 1% needing ≤ 62% and Dalnoth rolling a 59%  ≤ 87%, to successfully move silently.   Once up at the top they see it is an office and conference room with a large table and a couple desk.   Dalnoth has a look at one desk, Lo Shan the other and they find bookkeeping ledgers, dealing with weaponry and basic military equipment. There is no specific pattern to the entries, however, it is noted that the entries are posted during the morning hours.   They go back downstairs and Dalnoth has a look at the double doors on the east wall, rolling an 80% needing ≤ 50%, he found no trap. He successfully picks the lock opening rolling 73% needing ≤ 77%!   It is another pillared storeroom with a 20 ft high ceiling, this one having mundane military equipment and stuff you find in backpacks. Both Dalnoth and Lo Shan try to pick open the lock on the east wall’s double doors but both fail to do so! Both rolled a 96%, Dalnoth needing ≤ 77% & Lo Shan needing ≤ 52%.   From there, they move to the eastern wing of the warehouse going back around to get there.   When Dalnoth checks the room for stirges he spots 3 on a wisdom check roll of 5 needing ≤ 17.   Camlin & Pavel, fire arrow shoots into the room from the doorway at two of them, Pavel hitting Stirge #14 for 4 damage, while Camlin hits Stirge #12 for 7 damage, sending it slamming into the floor from it’s perch   Zhora, fires an arrow at stirge #14, dealing 4 damage!   Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins!   Xilicien, just stays back for now.   Stirge #15, swoops down on Zhora, attaching to her neck, dealing 1 bite damage + 2 in blood drain!   Zhora, tries to slice at Stirge #15 while using her two-handed sword at -2 to hit the creature on her neck and missed!   Stirge #14, swoops down on Sheila and she dodges out of the way!   Stirge #13, just stays aloft awaiting for someone to swoop down on.   Camlin, fires an arrow from the magical +1 Foeseeker long bow, hitting Stirge #11 for 3 damage!   Dalnoth, slashes Stirge #15 out of the air, with his rapier, dealing 7 damage, defeating the creature!   Stirge #11, swoops down on Dalnoth, attaching to his neck and bites for 1 damage, sucking blood for 1 damage!   Pavel, risks an arrow shot at Stirge #11, attached to Dalnoth’s neck and hits for 10 damage, defeating the creature! Dalnoth pulls it off his neck!   Lo Shan, waps Stirge #14 out of the air with his 3-piece-rod, dealing 5 bludgeoning damage, defeating it!   Lord Cromther, swings his 2-handed sword at Stirge #13 and missed!   Sheila, bats Stirge #13 out of the air with her magical +2 footman’s mace, dealing 9 bludgeoning damage, defeating the creature!   End of Combat!
Dalnoth, checks for traps on the east double doors, rolling a 44% needing ≤ 50% and did not find one. He successfully picks open the lock rolling a 72% needing ≤ 77%!   This large pillared room has a dome at it’s center, raise up another 10 ft from the main 20 ft high ceiling and it is here that 5 stirges roost, awaiting prey to drop down on.   Initiative rolls are made and Round #01 of Combat begins!   Stirge #20, swoops down on Lo Shan, who gets to use his deflect missiles skill here. He rolls a 5 needing ≥ 9! The attempt is unsuccessful, so the stirge attaches to his neck, biting for 2 and sucking blood for 3 damage!   Xilicien, casts the Magic Missile spell, sending 4 force missiles at Stirges #17, 18, 19 & 20, injuring for 3, 3, 4 & 4 force damage!   Stirge #17 tries to swoop down on Xilicien but missed!   Dalnoth, tossed a dart at Stirge #17 but missed!   Zhora, fires an arrow from her short composite bow, dealing 4 piercing damage to Stirge #17, defeating it!   Lo Shan tries to pound Stirge #20 who is wrapped around his neck, with his Iron Fist attack but missed!   Camlin, stabs at Stirge #20, with his magical +1 Calenyanda long sword, dealing 8 damage, defeating the creature. Lo shan pulls the creature off his neck, rubbing the bite wound!   Stirge #19, swoops down on Camlin but he dodges the creatures attempt to lach onto his neck!   Stirge #16,  swoops down on Zhora, lashes onto her neck, biting here for 2 and draining blood for 4 more damage!   Lord Cromther, stabs at Stirge #16, with his specialized weapon of choice the long sword, dealing 6 damage, defeating the creature! Zhora, pulls the creature off her neck and rubs the sore bite wound.   Sheila, bats Stirge #18 out of the air with her +2 footman’s mace for 6 bludgeoning damage, defeating the creature!   End of Combat!   Dalnoth, moves to a double door on the north wall, rolling an 84% needing ≤ 52%, he did not find one. He picks open the lock successfully, rolling a 39% needing ≤ 52%!   The doors open up to the outside. Lo Shan rolls a 17% needing ≤ 40% and did not find a trap, then picks open the lock on the south double door rolling a 23% needing ≤ 52%.
