Pathfinder 1E Vital Strike Macro

Currently playing in a Pathfinder game using the Roll20 Pathfinder Character Sheet  and I've picked up Vital Strike. My idea was to create a macro that would just roll the attack with the extra damage die rather than having to input the die rolls manually into the chat. The problem I've run into is that I can't get the attack and damage values to actually roll -- I think I know the area where I'm messing up but I'm clueless as to what I'm actually doing incorrectly. I've been trying to reference the Pathfinder Official Roll templates  but they only show the outputs for the rolls; not the actual inputs. This is what I've figured out so far; the section in bold is where I'm fairly sure my error is. I've got the name and the attack/damage template showing up just fine but I can't get the dice rolls to function. Any help is greatly appreciated. &{template:pc}     {{Attack:=repeating_attacks_$id_attack1} }} {{Damage:repeating_attacks_$id_damage1}+1d6}}

Well, first off, Vital Strike is a standard action for a single attack. There is no repeating attacks with Vital Strike. You may be making your macro too complicated. Second, you don't need to specify critical thread range if you only threat on a natural 20. This is already baked into all attacks automatically. Your macro should a simple single attack. As a suggestion, you can just create a 2nd entry into your weapon block (that's what I do). You would effectively have 2 attack types for the same weapon: Longsword and Longsword (Vital Strike) . Since the extra dice from Vital Strike is not multiplied on a critical hit, you will add the extra dice to the Bonus Dice (no crit) field in the Longsword (Vital Strike) weapon.

I decided against just adding another weapon entry because I want to use this as a way to make myself get more proficient with macros. I did take your advice and tried to simplify the rolls; removed the repeating parts and decided to specify the different modifiers explicitly and came up with this: &{template:pc} {{roll=attack_bonus}+@{Royce|melee_mod} +1 }}{{rolldmg1=strength_mod} +@{Royce|damage_bonus} +1d6}} Tinkering with it got me this -- I've got the attack roll to show up but not the damage roll. Thank you for the help -- you did get me on the right track and I've got the macro working now.
