Lucia Diabella (Di) Description (Personality/Physical):Frightful, a bit immature, yet bold, passionate, and vengeful if unchecked. Di falls in and out of love very easily. She is intelligent, charismatic, and very attractive. Her hair is worn long and is a fiery red. She stands about 5'1" but seems taller by her confident gait. Di bears ram-like horns to match creamy white skin and a figure that belongs to a harem girl. Her body is toned from exercise, but she still has tempting curves. Being insecure herself, she tends to wear clothing that accentuates these assets. Her gorgeous figure is something most women would crave...if they only knew the price of beauty. Background: If prostitution was shameful, being the bastard daughter of a whore was downright obscene. A young tiefling was born Lucia Diabella on a cold rainy night at the Whispering Witch [in Tilverton] to a human teenage courtesan that could not refuse the advances of a drunken horned wizard. To a harlot, children were a fate worse than even disease, and they were treated accordingly. While Lucia bore the tempting looks of her mother, she received no protection from the male patron's wanton abuses. Even her mother looked the other way when a man's hands went where they did not belong, and she gave no pity to her horned offspring's cries. Lucia spent innumerable and unspeakable nights pressed face down on a floor, beaten like an egg, praying to any and all gods to end her miserable existence. Her rage knew no bounds and it seeped into her flesh. It was a male dwarf that made the difference.Lucia Diabella met him one day as he patronized theWhispering Witch. Even now, his face is shrouded in mystery, but as he approached her, his hands did not wander. His eyes spoke kindness, and his voice brought hope the girl had never seen before. She originally worried that he found her hideous, but little did the girl know that as Lord Ulgar ushered her outside, she would never return to the house of Sin she called home. Ulgar, and other followers of Moradin, made it their mission to save the children in brothels. Before the child understood what had happened or why her savior disappeared, she was brought to the house of Douven Stahl. He was a strange man to the battered girl. Douven had no desire for her. His eyes were kind. His voice was clear, clean, and melodic. He was downright terrifying to one who had never known kindness or love. It was Douven Stahl that would fill the father role and lead this broken girl on the long hard road up out of hell. Her hatred was intense. Her molten fury attracted the attention of many infernals, all who lusted for both her body and mind. Truly, as she grew, Lucia looked every bit as beautiful as her forsaken mother, a curse that would forever haunt her psyche and life. SurinaFortunately for Di, she was able to meet another that understood a life thrust into the spotlight. The young tiefling met Surina, a confident Dragonborn, and was unaware that the two were sworn enemies in eras past. For reasons Di could not understand, this creature (she was to later learn woman was appropriate) seemed to treat her with a degree of respect the tiefling had never known. Why on earth did she care? What was there to see in a filthy horned monstrosity? It was not easy to accept love when it had never been given. Surina taught Di much, and this solidified Di as LN in Alignment. Surina also taught Di many languages; and introduced her to the Sisters of the Pure Fire. Surina kept herself out of sight of most citizens, hiding in the sewers, as most fear Dragons and she could not risk being mis-identified as a dragon! The Sisters and Surina taught Di much, but she seemed unwilling to commit, to take the final step to becoming a true Priestess. She found it hard to concentrate, and so failed to learn anything but languages. Tilverton Tilverton This Town sits north of the Kingdom of Cormyr and maintains its independence [so far]. It controls the Scar, sometimes called Tilverton Scar, and the villages of Halfhap and Griffon Hill. The Thunder Peaks have three major passes: Thunder Gap in the south and Shadow Gap and Tilver.s Gap in the north. Tilverton, has a population of 12,000 and sits at theintersection of the roads between Tilver.s Gap and Shadow Gap. The Town thrives on trade, and is run by a Council, most of the members of which are merchants or horse breeders. Furs are bought from trappers, and Gems are mined in the Mountains and sold here. The Mayor position is seen as a burden and changes yearly. A powerful guild of Rogues and Thieves operates, but is careful to avoid angering the Council to action. Below Tilverton lies a maze of sewers large enough to walk through. Also lying beneath the town are the ruins of an ancient elven and human settlement that surrounded the keep of Tilvara, an archwizardess. Now in ruins, the keep is known as Tilver.s Palace. The sewers are home to many rogues and monsters, including powerful undead.Competing for control of various sectors of the sewer network are various monstrous groups. The frontier town of Tilverton makes do with only three inns, each with a distinctive clientele. Grimwald’s Revenge is owned by the Rogues of Tilverton, who use it as a meeting place to make connections with leaders of caravans and adventurers. It is rumoured to have hundreds of secret compartments, rooms, and passages that the Rogues use. The Whispering Witch is known for strange occurrences. The Flagon held High is more of a Tavern than a true Inn, with only flopspace. Temple of Fire This is the main temple and sits at the very centre of the City. It has, however, faced a series of setbacks with opposition from the Council to all attempts to quell the evil in the sewers. Archpriest Jorlan Forl wishes to establish the settlement as a Theocracy, with himself as ruler. He promises to bring peace, prosperity, law, and order. Many seemed in favour, until the Council and Rogues began campaigns against his attempts at ‘tyranny’. That dayIt was on 'that' day that Surina proved her worth. Di quickly grew into her present womanly figure, and she drew the attentions of men. Not knowing how to behave, Di often indulged the brats. They reminded her of every man she had ever known...save Ulgar and Douven. Di made herself a regular fixture in bars, dangling like an infant before a lion. One day, she was not prepared for the drunken advances of 3 warriors. The foolish tiefling accepted their invitation to drink inside their room. She was quickly overpowered, thrown down, and nearly ready to relive her past. The perverse lot had even yanked her tail and pulled back on her horns. It was a horrible way to treat a tiefling, but Di had grown accustomed in her previous life. She half expected them to call her Lucia as they held her down.By the grace of the gods, Surina was able to break into the room before anything horrid took place. Threatened at sword point, the warriors quickly backed down, and as the Dragonborn carried the sobbing tiefling outside, Di realized for the first time what it meant to be loved by a peer. While she did not admit it, a bond was formed that day between two unlikely friends, and a female role model was born. TrainingWhile Di loathes the lectures and resents the suggestions of Surina at face value, she inwardly values her fellow's opinion, willingly but unconsciously embracing the 'little sister' role. It is here that she feels safe...a part of something...a rare chance to be someone of value. It is here that the wicked blood, urge for violence, and thirst for vengeance are slowly tempered. As she matured, Lucia began to find some iota of hope and direction for her life under Douven. She left "Lucia" behind, kept her last name, but went as "Di" for short. Di was new and different. Di was broken but not destroyed. Di was powerful. Di was ready to work with others and trust them...well, women perhaps. The men would be some time. Di was attractive, confident, and powerful; not an empty shell in a pretty box. Di would not fall prey to the lusts of the infernal...to the rage of the pact...would she? Di commits to the life of a Priestess, putting behind her the life before. She quickly catches up with other students, and overtakes them. She soon finds she has Magic even beyond that of her tutors, and passes out as a novice – or Spark of Kossuth! Only in the wearing of armour does she fail the tests; being unable to operate at all well, her spells failing and hurting herself when she tries anything. She abandons all hope of ever wearing armour. Appearance Fiery red hair which cannot hide large rams-horns.The Horns can tend to make a bad reaction worse! She has Allure – which means she can attract 1 extra henchman [must be Male!]. She also gets a reaction bonus from males who might be tempted by her. For Di this Allure is something she has to turn off, not on like most that have it! Weapons Daggers and Knives, plus Shortsword. Languages Literacy: Good. Primary (Own): Common Native Quality: Infernal Good:Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Orc Fair: Demonic, +5 others Rogue Skills Having spent many years as a whore, and being Tiefling, she has learnt some of the basic skills of a Rogue. She is a natural and can develop these skills [20% added per level, max 15% to any one skill]. Magic Di is a Priestess of Kossuth, the Primal Fire. She is a Sister of the Pure Flame. In addition to the normal range of spells that she has as a Priestess she has access to additional spells that other Priests and Priestesses do not. These are Wizard spells, but she treats them in all ways as Priest spells. She does not know if this is due to her heritage, or special favour from Kossuth. [In character design terms she pays for this by the Limited armour (None) disadvantage] Wizard Spells she can use at first Level: Affect Normal Fires, Burning Hands, Dancing Lights and Light [although quicker to cast, this is less effective than the Light spell of a Priest]. Major: All, Fire, Sun Minor: Charm, Healing, Divination, Protection Necromantic, Weather. Priest Spells: Bless, Combine, Command, CLW, Detect Evil, Detect Magic, Detect Poison, Detect Snares & Pits, Endure Heat/Cold, Faerie Fire, Invisibility to Undead, Light, Locate Animals or Plants, Protection from Evil, Purify Food and Drink, Remove Fear, and Sanctuary.Note : Some of these are Reversible! Secondary Skill Jeweller – Appraisal etc. She has always appreciated Jewellery and has picked up much knowledge in this area. Gems are one of the major trades in the City [along with Horses, Pottery and Furs]. Weapon Skills As a Priestess of Kossuth she is allowed to use Bill, Dagger/Knife, Stiletto, Swords [All]. She is proficient in Dagger/Knife [not thrown] and Short Sword. Due to her background she has learnt to defend herself with unarmed combat. Her unarmed attacks do not cause an attack of opportunity as normal unarmed attacks do. She prefers to fight this way, and as she learns [more] magic this might assist with some ‘touch’ attacks. Unarmed attacks do little damage, though! Armour These priests are permitted only Metal Armour, as any other would be damaged by Fire. However her upbringing means Di cannot wear any armour. Equipment Di has always had to be careful with money, but when things went wrong and she had to flee. Pre-Game Recent Events Di spent less and less time with random men, and more time learning the role of Priestess, until she was finally serving in the Temple solely. One of her regulars, Grahlim, still came daily to the Temple, however, and she was often seen arguing with him. One day she came into the outer precinct, and almost fell over something, looking down she could see it was Grahlim – dead with a knife stuck in his neck. At that moment the great outer doors opened and seeing Di crouched over the body, the alarm was raised. She had no-where to run and was arrested for murder and taken to the town lockup. Over the next 12 hours she hears more and more evidence I being collected against her. These are jilted men making cold revenge, for the most part. One former ‘lover’, Councillor Ashdun, however came to see her and drugged the guards. He hands her a bag of food and water, her weapons, and bids she flee lest she be executed for a crime she could not have committed. He also provides her a fast horse, although she has never ridden. So she leaves, and must never return for she is wanted for murder in Tilverton! However it is likely this event will put yet more pressure on the Temple! The Journey The horse went lame after two days but by then she had lost her pursuers. Yet fearing to be slowed by the horse she left her in a valley between two hills, and continued on foot. Coming to a river she turned south, and eventually reached a crossing, but decided not to cross, instead heading into a forest. This trail, she knew, leads into Cormyr and although the route was through a dangerous forest, she knew the trail was well used and patrolled. At midnight she is woken by loud prayers and – without falling form the tree she is sleeping in – she moves to get a better view. A tall noble female elf with blue hair, a smaller male elf and three human males [one huge!] are in a clearing some distance off. She cannot make out the words, but one of the humans is praying loudly!
