LFP Bronze Age 5e GM looking to fill out a group!

The Desert at the End is a campaign for new and veteran players alike. It is LGBTQ+ friendly, and while I typically do not engage in explicit content, still 18+ for those wishing to join as I sometimes approach more mature themes (unless a player doesn't wish to engage with them). I intend for this game to be longer sessions (6-8+ hours) less frequently (around once a month), in the PST time zone starting sometime in November. Hypothetically it could go 1-20, but right now I'm focused on 1-5. The campaign is set in a homebrew desert world right around the time mortals start to figure out they can make villages and trade resources.  The future is uncertain, and completely unwritten!  Conceptually, the Mortals are low magic, but the world is high magic - there's plenty of intrigue and strange creatures, but wizards barely exist. If you are interested, I don't have any solid expectations for an application. Introduce yourselves! Tell me what type of games you've played, what you're looking for (do you like roleplay, combat, political intrigue), stuff you want out of a group! Whatever helps to give a good sense of who you are as a person and a player. All I expect is engagement and collaboration as we all work for a fun game and story. About Me: I've been a GM/DM for nearly 10 years now, and it's one of my favorite things to do, alongside watching horror movies and writing. I love creating spaces for characters to breath and make their own choices in, while still delivering an interesting world and story to engage with. I focus primarily on stories and roleplay first, although I have a healthy appreciation for interesting and tactical combat. I look forward to hearing from you and what you are interested in. You can leave a response to this thread, or ask for more information.
Good afternoon,  I have been doing tabletop RPG's off and on since about 1996 and would like be interested in a monthly game, depending on the day. I do have a toddler with no childcare and both my wife and I work full time. So my interest in games has not been matched by my availability to participate in one for a while. I have not played in a desert themed game since AD&D 2nd edition using Al Qadim. A low magic setting can be a lot of fun with the prospect of the mysteries of the world are out there to be discovered or deciphered. I tend to prefer grim and gritty games. But I do enjoy some good hearted humor. But I am not a fan of things getting silly. (Halflings are fun, Kender are not)  I have played all editions of D&D from AD&D forward, Legend of the Five Rings, Hackmaster 4e, 7th Sea, Pathfinder 1e, Shadowrun, Heavy Gear and a plethora of other games. I like to have a good mix of play styles and find character motivations to be paramount to keeping with a character. Walking around and blowing things up with Fireball, while temporarily entertaining, tends to lack any long term playability. Upon reflection, a mix of 60-70% non-combat to a 30-40% encounter ratio tends to be a good mix. Though I am not hard set on always having combat or arguing that every encounter can be talked through. I am all for the dungeon crawl for treasure and hidden lore, though a character would also need personal motivation for those things to be a good adventurer on their own. Most of my game experience with D&D style games is with homebrew settings. They are varied and can be an immense amount of fun. But, as in all things, the devil is in the details. Culture helps drive character concepts and everything that goes into making a complete person. Not just a series of fun mechanics, those do help as well. Since picking up the 5e books. I have had my eye on the Warlock and would like to give it a go. Though I can come up with other concepts to mesh well with any party, if given time and information.
