Hello everyone!
I am Dungeon/Game Master Indoril Mora and I’m
starting up a new weekly campaign, English will be the game language and games will
happen once a week at evenings around 18-20 GMT+3, Saturday would be my
preference but that is negotiable.
Who I am and about my style of DM’ing
I am a working university student, studying history
and archaeology, hobbies being writing, art, and swordplay; I am LBQT+ friendly
and would give my best to incorporate all players of all shades. I have been a
fantasy nerd for past 2 and half decades now and in the world of DnD nearly 5 years
now. I have DM’ed around 50 people so far and have run one shots, campaigns and
even some different systems. My style of DM’ing is more sandbox than
railroading and more focused on rewarding the players initiative than trying to
ram certain plot down your throats ;).
Games are usually more Role-play than Combat
oriented with 50/50 being minimum while sometimes be more 80/20 leaning towards
RP. elements. Quests can often be more intrigue based and may involve solving
puzzles, clues, figuring out hints and filing gaps or be tied in with bigger
picture and/or may require understanding or remembering of older solved plots
and quests. I also like to write in and incorporate player character backstory
elements. Except grey alignments and making decisions where there is no right
or wrong option or it’s not clear what is right and what is wrong.
I want to play
Requirements:
·
Have
a good grasp of English
·
Be
able to use a decent microphone*
·
Be
a decent human*
·
Be
able to play once a week on set times*
·
Willingness
to work with your DM*
*Whether we play
only through voice or voice and video will be discussed at session 0, if
majority wants to play that way I’m fine with either, I believe that voice and
video would give us better overall quality in longer run however. Another thing to note,
please if you live with family/pets etc., try to have a good, quiet environment
for the sessions, people shouting over each other and watching sports or dogs
barking near your oversensitive microphone can be fairly disrupting to the
session overall even with push-to-talk option.
* Be a decent
human? What I mean by that is that I would require us to be LBQT+ friendly and
not ostracize someone based on their sex, sexual preferences, race etc, and to
keep politics and religion (real life, it’s fine if your argue about Bahamut
and Tiamat ;) ) out of the games as well.
* Since it is a
monthly subscription based model, I do hope that it is enough of an incentive
to be there for each session but if you are not able, please, let me know as
soon as possible and we will set up a discount for the next month, if several
people cannot be at attendance, the session will be cancelled and I will offer
an extra session as soon as possible, if I cannot make it, I will offer a free
extra session as soon as possible.
* If you are
willing I would like to work with you at character creation so you would have a
character that fits into the world and you would have greater chances then to
also explore your character backstory and more in depth.
Campaign
I propose a campaign in my own homebrew world of Igüv.
A land that has been shattered by conflict and strife, opportunities arise for
those who are brave and courageous. Vile corruption has spread throughout the
lands after a cataclysmic event known as the Sundering.
Strange corrupted creatures roam the countryside and civilization is forced to
retreat year after year, while nobles scheme among themselves and prepare for
war.
Pirates who once harried the west coast have organized and formed their own
nation of Urukay’l where gold and blood reigns supreme, but deep beneath the
island of Urukay’l the civilizations of Drow are falling and those who came
above ground tell of a new cruel empire rising deep, where sun never shines.
To the north wilderness reigns strong, druids and
shamans of nomadic people guard secrets that could be dangerous to world as a
whole. Firbolgs, Humans, Dwarves and Orcs make their home there and sometimes
wandering Dragonborn exiles find new a start there. But what lies under the ice
and in the coldest mountains, is it treasure or death?
Strong federations of city states and kingdoms populated
by Half-elves make their own path to the south, a multicultural civilization,
friendly to all, but there political Machiavellian machinations run deep and a
friendly face is often one to plant a dagger in your back.
But I could also run a game in Etharis world or
Taldorei/Wildemount, expectation and wishes for theme and what will the
campaign will be like, will be discussed at session 0.
Why paid model?
I get it, paid DM’ing is still bit of a taboo topic,
many people think that as a hobby it’s no bueno, that I/DM/GM’s should do it
for free because it’s just a hobby and enjoyment we all get out of it should be
enough. While I love DnD and DM’ing, it’s sadly often unappreciated profession
and we as DM’s invent lot more time and money into it. My longest session preparation
time has been around 10 hours, usually it (the prep. time) is more akin to the session
runtime and in some rare cases I don’t have to do any prep. but it’s nearly
always more time that themselves players invest.
Also I believe it weeds out most disruptive players
and players who are not willing to commit and would ghost the group or
sessions. Paid model is commitment and commitments are less often set aside so
to speak.
Rest assured though that the money that you would
provide does not go to waste, much of it goes back into campaign and help with
the quality of the campaign, whether it is paying for subscriptions for helpful
sites and tools and buying extra materials and source books. Etc DnDbeyond,
Syrinscape and so on.
Paid Model
40€ monthly subscription, payment through Paypal,
once a month, which corresponds to weekly games with session times ranging 3 to
4 hours with 20 minute break in between. Session 0 will be free.

Last Notes
I am looking to DM to 4 to 5 people ideally, I have
2 people at the moment who have expressed interest but if you have a set group
of friends and you think you would want me to DM for you it would work fine as
well as long as the group is not larger than 6 people.
If you are interested, comment or send me a message
and we’ll set up schedule for discord call, following that session 0 where I
will touch upon general info about campaign and give you information regarding
the start.
