Hello, roleplayer. I have a homebrew fantasy setting and a story or several. What I lack is players to take part. This post will go into further detail and perhaps a few likeminded individuals will make themselves known. The setting is of an adult nature in both theme and tone, which is to say bad things can happen to good people and victorious villains are rarely kind to their captives. There might be smut or there might not be, depending on player preferences and type of character(s) played, but erotica is not the focus. A spice at most, not the meal itself. Smut will not involve anthros, herms, male/male or suspiciously youthful characters. The game will be played through text, be it solo sessions or group adventures. The eventual goal is to put together a small adventuring party or similar group, but if that proves impossible (timezone conflicts, incompatible characters, player preference), solo play as Discord play-by-post is also an option. For a timeslot I'd suggest European evenings or late evenings on weekends, though of course play-by-post can take place at any time on any day. We'll be using something that vaguely resembles Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 as ruleset. This will be more about story and roleplay and less about crunching numbers and minmaxing, so the rules are not all that important. In fact, you don't even need to know the rules if you're not familliar with the system. I can handle rolls and mechanics completely behind the screen if needed. The gameworld has many of the tried and true elements of western fantasy and D&D. Humans, elves, halflings, dwarves and orcs are pretty much what you'd expect. Magic is present and powerful, though not commonly available to all strata of society. Gods existed millennia ago but most of them are believed long dead. Humanity rules most of the known world, which is one continent due to the fact the seas are closed off by numerous and aggressive merfolk. Dwarven and elven realms are both isolationist societies that loathe humans, halflings live among humans in harmony. Orcs are seen as barbaric raiders and an enemy to all. Playable races, from most common to least common: human, halfling, half-orc, half-elf, dwarf, elf. While the elder races as societies despise humans, individual exceptions always exist, and modern humans do not have any special enmity toward dwarves or elves. Playable classes, from most common to least common: fighter, rogue, wizard, sorcerer. Druid and ranger are also possible, if not quite as the by the book version. Monks exist. Cleric would take accomodating. No currently active deity has paladins. That should give some idea what to expect as a player. Additional info will be made available in the course of character creation... because I didn't want to open with a lore nuke. What do I expect from my players? Passion and patience. Willingness to work together OOC, if not always IC. I will not deal with rules lawyers, drama llamas or shrieky snowflakes. We're all adults with the goal of enjoying the best hobby in the world, so let's be considerate to each other. It doesn't matter if you've been RPing for decades or if this is your first game. All you need is an idea of what kind of character you'd like to play and we'll take it from there. Fluent English is a requirement - fluent, not perfect. A typo here and clunky sentence there won't bring the game to a screeching halt. Just... if your gona b typeing liek tihs, it won't be a good fit. If you're interested, send a PM. Tell me what you like and dislike, what kind of role you want to play.
