VAIS: VAIS, encouraged by his recent adventures decides to become the best thief ever. He starts working directly for the new mayor, Ilyra, retrieving items from the very rich. He also spends time arranging a workforce of warforged to clean out Drummonds Independents and getting the forges working again. After many successes he is called to meet Ilyra at one of her secret locations. She explains that she has a sensitive mission for him. Delgo had noticed that the mayors sword that had disappeared after the death of the old Mayor was being used by Sylviel, but hidden in an extradimensional space when not being used. The mayor suspects that Sylviel is using warlock abilities to summon and hide the sword at will. She asks VAIS to drug Sylviel with a special elixer that mutes all magical abilities. That should drop the ability that creates the interdimensional space and VAIS will claim the sword. The mayor will then be able to attune to the sword. Given that the sword is made specifically for the mayor and grants special abilities to the rightfully elected mayor, that should undo the warlock summoning ability upon it. VAIS is able to do this, and the mayor reclaims the sword. Days later VAIS notes the mayor nodding to Sylviel with her hand on the sword, and Sylviel returning a blank look in response. VAIS isn't great at reading expressions but feels that this won't be forgotten by Sylviel. He hopes she never discovers his part in this deception. Sylviel: The White Widow helps Boromar consolidate power. The power struggle really showed how unprepared the Clan was in regard to actual combat and such. She assembles and leads a crew (including Norm) to deal with missions of elimination, larceny, defamation and destruction. She will uses her illusory magic, deception skills and contacts to gather information, run cons and act inappropriately in public while disguised as people she wants discredited. Her missions mostly come from the Boromar Clan and becomes invaluable to the mayor, Delgo and Saiden, but starts designing missions of her own to help her consolidate her own power base. It is while she is building her own power base that she notes that the mayor is starting to treat her slightly differently and the number and scope of her Boromar missions decrease. Then one night, you are on a mission of your own that does not go to plan. You attempt to summon your sword, but it does not appear. You are stunned. This is impossible. Suddenly your escape becomes much harder and you barely get away with your life. You spend the next few days trying to work out how your powers could have failed you, but at your next Boromar meeting you notice that the mayor has your sword on her side. The mayor sees you looking, gives you a nod and pats her hand on the sword. You mentally check your internal ledger, and decide to move more to consolidating your own power outside of the Boromar clan.
