Few questions about Dungeon Master's Guide

Hey, just thought I would post this and ask about the DMG that is available for purchase on roll20. 40$ is a lot of money to put down for something that there isn't any concrete info about and especially these few specific questions are something I would like confirmed. Is there full integration of the rollable tables present in the DMG? Is there full support for the spell point variant so I change from spell slots to spell points in the options of my game? Are there any other variant rules fully integrated to be switch on and off from the game options? Would be nice to have these clarified so I know what is there and what is not before I got dropping 40$ for two charactermancer subclasses and pictures of tables I already have in physical format. Thanks in advance to whoever happens to answer :)

The DMG comes with a Game Addon that Features these tables with the listed number of entries Magic-Item-Table-A 8 Magic-Item-Table-B 35 Magic-Item-Table-C 28 Magic-Item-Table-D 16 Magic-Item-Table-E 7 Magic-Item-Table-F 60 Magic-Item-Table-G 88 Magic-Item-Table-H 69 Magic-Item-Table-I 53 Random-Figurine-of-Wondrous-Power 7 Table-I-Magic-Armor 7 Short-Term-Madness 10 Long-Term-Madness 12 Indefinite-Madness 12 It also includes these fully set up maps with Dynamic Lighting: It also includes handouts for many (possibly all?) magic items, most with pictures: as well as vehicles, explosives, firearms, poison, and siege equipment. As for Spell points and variant rules integration, I think that's going to be more of a Character Sheet question.

Thank you, definitely seems worth more seeing as there are the actual tables and I will probably just have to keep asking if the spell point variant is ever getting official support

Keep in mind that not all integration occurs with the roll out of a product. Some features are developed at later points. Many of the bits of Charactermancer were added as time went on, and of course, it didn't even exist when the PHB was released.

Yup, I have been pretty happy with the recent development of the sheet and if the keep this going they will have my support for years to come. Although it would still be worth asking if its considered to be something they might add in the future. I always liked spell points as an idea for online games (have ran it a bunch offline), but it is very unmanageable without support on VTT.

But isnt this why they have been saying they have waited to release it - so that it was done right??? It appears that they rushed it anyway to get it out by the end of the year.
I wonder what happened to the "really great and useful ideas being played with" hinted about in April 2019: https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/7393145/

There is no mention of future upgrades to the DMG. No mention of exciting new features to come. Just a sloppy mess of a release that unsuspecting customers are paying full price for. Sure, in six months, they may get the features they want (*may*), but that's six months after payment to get the product you were expecting. Really slipshod, borderline fraudulent advertising. I suspect that they had committed to an end-of-year delivery, couldn't get it done on time, but rushed a half-finished product to the marketplace just to say it was there. UDL, anyone?

Hold them to these promises. There is so much marketing puffery bandied about on these forums by Roll20 and so little accountability when that puffery doesn't translate into substance.

Its probably a big ask mechanically, given what would be needed to support it under the hood, so to speak, but is there any chance that the alternate option system in the DMG might be implanted? such would potentially be a big boon for some DMs.

A brief survey of other forum posts about underwhelming Roll20 product releases indicates the powers-that-be are either (1) unaware the customer base wants more integration and not just a digital facsimile of a DnD product or (2) only by complaining are they made aware they should integrate more game mechanics into the Roll20 platform before releasing a product. I'll be gracious and assume the Roll20 product, social media, and development teams are growing at such a rapid pace that they are doing the best they can. But at some point the rubber hits the road and Roll20 has to release deliverables better and faster than its competitors, or fall to the wayside.
