Why an Interview?
Long story short,
it's hard to know if someone is a person you can get along with via writing. So
I decided to just chat with them and see how that goes. It's not meant to be
formal and no personal questions will be asked if we can help it.
About me (Andy) and some of the players:
I am not originally
from London so I do have a bit of an accent, that from what I have been told is
understandable. I have been DMing for
about 4 years with a variety of players both gathered from roll20 and friends.
I learned that nobody is perfect and as such I am open to post-game criticism
when appropriate to improve everyone's experience and have fun. Fair warning I do swear a fair bit (in
general not at people). As far as what I want from running this game: I want to
have fun playing DnD with likeminded individuals.
2 of the players
already in are nice people but can be a bit shy at the beginning. They have
experience both as players and as DMs and they work well with people.
You will be able to
ask us (those that are present) more questions in the interview an see if you
like us as well.
What I am looking for in players:
I would love for those that
apply to be able to play as a group and be able to go along with what
the majority wants. This can be the
personal character goals, silly things or the necessary things depending
on how it goes.
I rarely skip sessions so it would be preferred to be there on time and weekly.
The character you make are a bit more grounded and part of the world rather than an oddity that exist
off the bat.
While I try to do things by
the book I do sometimes introduce and use homebrew rules that can possibly
enhance the designed experience. As such it would be nice to give them a
shot before outright denying their use.
Most importantly of them all,
to be yourself and have fun playing with everyone. This is a game we play
together and we should not be pressured to be different people for the
sake of it.
Information to DM me:
A name to address
you by.
Level of experience
with DnD or other systems.
A Discord link to
invited you to a temporary server.
An idea or 2 for a
character, class, race, maybe a short idea of a backstory if u can think of
one.
Be aware:
We
will asking about past experiences if you have any.
We
will interview other people and not all will be invited. No hard feelings.
Terms, warnings, assurances.
Any racism, bigotry,
homophobia, belligerence or bullying will not be tolerated.
Murder-hoboing all
NPCs, harassment, any of these kinds of behaviours will result in a swift kick
out of the game.
Experiments with the
rules I do to make the game better not worse, and as such I will ask for honest
opinions about that if they can be provided.
If someone/anyone
does something you as an individual don’t like or you do something like that, I expect a conversation to resolve and
understand it rather than immediate anger and quitting.
The games I run
should be a safe space for roleplaying, creativity and collaboration. If you
feel I’m not doing my best to uphold these standards, please let me know!
