This bounty is signed by a man named Arnulf looking for “Experienced Adventurers”(preferably level 2+) to aid in cleansing the forgotten temple of his god. It warns of the path being extremely dangerous and gives a description of a large flying feathered beast that tore two of his companions in twain with a single strike. The goal of this quest is to cleanse the temple and in turn removal of the fog that has been tainting the area around it. No reward is offered, but an ancient temple….what treasures hide within?
Kronk the level 2 LeoBear Barbarian will come back!

I'll grab that slot, Eborra, Level 1 Goblin Sorcerer (Divine Soul)
Could you please make a Calendly booking for this? Just trying to get my calendar and availability sorted. Calendly will only let you book a two hour session, but I'll block out the full four hours.
Chris said: Ayla and I are in! I'll take Varis lvl 2-3 wood elf fighter and Ayla wants to take Aerfrey lvl 2 elf druid I believe we'll need a replacement for Varis in this one, as he's yet to be rescued from Quartztoil Tower.
This sounds tough... Tordak will seek a glorious death here

Since Fizzbang 3 ended early and I'll likely be unable to go on the next one. I'll swap my druid for my level 3 half elf Draconic Sorcerer Sabrina. Which is appropriate as she was supposed to go on the original mission.

am i posting summaries in the right place now?
Looks like it :)
26 Highsun New friends made today; Burglekutt, a Gnome Wizard, Constance, a Human Blood Huntress, Tordak, a Dwarven Barbarian, Arnulf, a Trollkin Cleric to the faith of the temple we were travelling to, Sabrina, a Human Sorceress, and Kronk, a Leonnin Barbarian who has already assured me he was a Bugbear in an all-too-recent past life. We set out towards a temple to the south-west, where we'd find some evil that had corrupted the place, and I'd get to finish what my sister started. We set up camp after a long day of hiking, though I preferred the peace and quiet of uneventfulness to what faced us that night. Zombies, tall and frightening, and they brought horrid little yowling pets with them! One of them managed to nick Kronk and I think it's made him sick, another got Arnulf, though he'll likely be able to sleep it off. 27 Highsun Thankfully nothing to report for the day, even the night passed quietly. Kronk still looks sick, though, worse now than the day before. Whatever's in him is eating him from the inside, and while my magic can help him fight it, it's not going to cure him. I hope we can deal with this threat in time to have him cured. 28 Highsun We arrived, the entrance to the temple looking less like the courtyard of a temple to a Moon Goddess, and more like a mausoleum. Horrid smoke, the very same ochre fog that has been bothering the people of these lands, comes from a chimney in the centre, with signs of a tarry ooze all over the place. Before we could even enter, we were attacked by our own shadows. Thankfully, despite how resistant they were to most magic and physical attacks, Arnulf and I were able to use radiant damage to see them off magically while the rest beat them down over time. Constance seemed particularly effective. Within, we saw the first of hopefully many holy artefacts left behind by Kayassit's worship; a limpid pool that Arnulf encouraged us to pray at. He'd been here before, and said the pool was responsible for saving his life and opening his eyes to Kayassit. I believed him, and prayed that my fellows might be protected. Next, he directed us to bathe, and while Kronk shied away, the rest of us bathed together. It seemed to make a few of us a lot better, and I helped Tordak unknot his beard while his strength was restored in the pools. It was actually quite nice, all things considered. We agreed as one to sleep in this little sanctuary and get ourselves ready to go further. 29 Highsun Not an hour into the dungeon, and Arnulf woke the very beast he'd warned us off in the days leading up to this. A great, inky mass of slime-like flesh attacked us, supposedly a part of some greater and eviller being. To make it worse, while Tordak tried to move into another chamber to give us room to manoeuvre in the narrow corridor we'd been forced to face this thing in, he roused the attention of swarms of plagued rats, hungry for flesh as much as the bigger beast was. In the end, we won, but not without much moving about to get caught by this thing, and I think I may have been the only one to come out unscathed. I was forced to stay at the back and try and fire over the heads of half a dozen taller folk, what was I meant to do?? I must have spent most of these fights running between ankles to avoid getting slaughtered.

Arnulf reads over the letter once more while the party rests before adding his signature to the bottom of the page. Dear Lippy & Ida If you are reading this then I am dead for the last time and this letter has been taken off my corpse by my companions which hopefully has made its way to you both now. I was unable to complete my mission but our clan is not lost, it lives on through you both now, you must succeed where I have failed. I am sorry for keeping the location of our goddess’s temple a secret from you both as I could not risk losing the last of our clan on a single expedition, I have drawn a copy of the map to lead you here, please bring strong warriors and cleanse this sacred temple. The road is a perilous one, if you follow my path I hope you will reach this location without too much trouble, the path we took may be a longer route but I believe a safer one. A few days on the road you may see a large cave, stay far from it, one of my companions had explored parts of it previously and rumours of a necromancer lies within, I believe them as so should you as we were ambushed during camping by a horde of undead. Once you reach the river, follow it south until you find the temple, this place is tainted by an evil that cannot be left to linger here, destroy it any way you can. Much here I do not understand, we encountered the black tar like creature that killed me before but this time I had the last laugh as I smited it with all my fury. I do not believe it is gone though, as I dealt the final blow it seemed to be pulled back through the cracks in the walls as if it was attached to something larger, whatever it is, that's the true threat that lays dormant here. I only hope we can destroy it. Please come as soon as you can, I am glad to have known you both so please do myself and our clan proud. Sincerely, Arnulf A fierce look of determination in Arnulf’s eyes, he folds the letter, sealing it and placing it in his backpack. Preparing himself for what lies ahead...

26 Highsun Finally going to cross something off my 'to do' list. The group assembled is different to the one I originally had planned on going on to find this 'Fog Monster". Good thing I didn't end up going. From what I heard, most of the party wound up dead and/or reincarnated - no thankyou. The only one I recognised is Tordak. This kilt wearing, hairy, smelly Dwarf. Everyone else is a new face, including a goblin and a troll. They'll let anything into Hope these days it seems. Our first day was mostly uneventful, unless you count finding a barrel of perfectly good water on the side of the road. Naturally I helped myself, so did the others. It's not like anyone is going to miss it. That evening the Troll Arnulf told us that the temple we are headed is for the goddess he worships Kayassit. I've never heard of her. Must be a pretty shit goddess if you only have one troll worshipping you. There was also talk of black Ooze at this temple. Sadly ooze was something I already failed to avoid on this adventure; as I had to kick Burglekutt, our gelatinous blob of a wizard out of my tent that evening. He left this awful stink in there too. What the hells was he doing? That wasn't all that happened that evening. We were attacked by these feral undead creatures. As much as I enjoy the company of a fellow sorcerer, this goblin Eborra seems a bit on the frail side and needed assisting. Go back to Hope you'll live longer. Kronk also picked up some horrible disease from one of the fucking things. He better not be a burden to us for the rest of the trip, not matter how gloriously luscious his mane is. 27 Highsun No wonder why were were attacked by zombies last night. We were camped not far from a necromancers cave. The navigator finally knows were they are going but it also happens to take us on the route filled with the most danger. Great job you incompetent turd. We also happened across the cave were they killed Ragemaws favourite Goblin (again - fucking idiots). Made sense to grab the goblins ears from the corpses. My as well make some money out of this trip. Gods Eborra was SOO precious about it all. The evening was uneventful aside from Kronk looking more decrepit. I also had nights watch on my own AGAIN. Seriously it's like no one has a sense of good company around here. I was bored out of my mind for most of the night. 28 Highsun We made it to the temple around dusk. The original members of this expedition told us that our shadows will attack if we get too close to the temple entrance. And that there is a magical lock as well. Good to know but still not overly helpful - but hey, they try their best. Slowly approaching I saw a spire with concentrated fog coming out. Best find a way to plug that. There also copious amounts ooze everywhere. I'm surprised Burglekutt didn't feel right at home. Right on que our shadows lashed out at us. A difficult battle - for some of us at least. These apparitions suck the strength right out of you! Tordak went from cube to stick in the blink of an eye - he never looked better to be honest. The human Constance held her own, but she seems to cut herself a lot. Is she depressed of something - her problem I suppose. Just as long as she doesn't die from the blood loss mid battle. I don't give a rats ass. We finally made it into the temple. Inside there is a pool to this 'goddess' - such bullshit, nothing happened! Well nothing important at least. 29 Highsun After resting, we went into the temple proper. This place is filthy, ancient and obviously not safe, especially when Arnluf in all of his wisdom woke up a giant Ooze! On to top of fighting a ooze, swarms of rats came and attacked Tordak and Constance. By some miracle we all lived, although Burglekutt and Kronk are heading back to Hope. Kronk wasn't looking too great when he left, I doubt he'll make it back alive.
Ayla D. said: I've never heard of her. Must be a pretty shit goddess if you only have one troll worshipping you. Oi, listen here you little shit... there is actually three trolls....

Burglekutt's Diary I've decided to help rid Hope of this ghastley fog thats been plaguing the area. I must say it will certainly help the mood of the town if we can get rid of it - I haven't had a cheery day since I arrived! There's a group of adventurers heading out to a temple that is apparently belching the stuff into the atmosphere. We made our way west and had an uneventful day of travel but we were attacked that night by a bunch of Feral Zombies. They even had a few Zombie Cats with them! It did not escape my notice that we were close to that Necromancer Cave I visited recently. I wonder if these creatures were his creations... When we awoke the next day the Leonine, Kronk , appeared to have taken ill. He said he may have caught something during the zombie fight but insisted that we press onward. Sure enough later that day we encountered the Necromancers Cave. I explained to my companions my suspicions about the place but it was decided that we continue on to the Fog Temple. It was, afterall, the purpose of our expediation. As we perpared to make camp that night Kronk's condition appeared to be deteriorating. We did our best to make him feel comfortable; Arnulf said that only a lesser restoration spell back at Hope could help him and we considered turning back. Again Kronk insisted that we continue forward. On our third day of travel we finally reached our destination. Sure enough there is a shaft in the courtyard spewing fog into the air. The magical pool just inside the temple entrance was wonderful. It healed our wounds and refreshed us. Unfortunately it didn't cure Kronk's ailment. He explained that he had already received the pool's gift on the previous expedition out here and that it would not cure him again. We didn't make it far into the temple before we encountered a Demon Blood Ooze. We managed to defeat the terrible creature but I've decided to help rid Hope of this ghastley fog thats been plaguing the area. We managed to defeat the terrible creature but Kronk's condition continued to worsen. I have decided to escort Kronk back to Hope while the rest of the party remains. My friend Byron spoke of heading out this way soon, hopefully he will be able to meet up with the party inside the temple. It grieves me to write this, but Kronk succumbed to the disease during our return journey. I did my best to fashon a makeshift sled from fallen branches but to no avail. I am but a Gnome and an overweight, middle aged one at that. The best I could do for him was a shallow grave, dug out of the damp swamp soil with my quarterstaff. Farewell my brave companion...
Burglekutt's gonna have nightmares when he see Zombie Kronk...
