The Adventure Continues (Part 6 this Tuesday) Game Day With Dungeons & Dragons! Day: Tuesday, February 23rd Start Time: 9:00 AM PST / 5:00 PM GMT Duration: 5 hours, +1 hour optional buffer, if needed to finish. Voice: Voice and some sounds will be run on Discord Everything Else: Roll20 is used for everything else: character sheets, maps, handouts, music, and sound effects Pirates, Plunder, and Peril. Well, no one said the life of an adventurer was going to be easy. You’re one of a group of castaways marooned on a trio of desert islands. It would be bad enough if lack of food and water were all you had to contend with. But rumours of buried treasure have drawn pirates to the islands, who force you into hiding as they scour them by day. But the pirates are careful to leave well before dusk, knowing that the islands’ past comes alive at night. Were it that you could do the same, for nothing on those islands truly dies. Your presence has awakened something, an ancient hunger that calls to you. Can you resist the whispers that torment your brief moments of sleep? Can you either defeat the evil that keeps the dead restless, or just manage to live until rescue arrives? Or will you succumb, as did those who came before you? Time is not on your side. It's time to socialize and take a break from the news. We have some seats available and You are welcome to join us! This Tuesday will be Part 6 of an ongoing adventure. The Daggers is a game day session for beginning characters to bring people together for safe socialization and fun. The themes are exploration, mystery, and horrour. These sessions are part of a continuing story, but are stand-alone, meant for just getting together to have some fun and hang out with folks while exploring a story; as such, there is no requirement or assumption that any one player will continue through to the story's end. Though encounters are part and parcel of any roleplaying game, my personal style is to emphasize story and character and to encourage players to roleplay their characters and be immersed in the story and situation. For this adventure, each player has a role to play in the overarching story. In the guise of that role, each player will have access to handouts for information. Some of these are shared with one or more players; some are exclusive to one player. As always for my games, the primary rules for interaction are courtesy, patience, acceptance, tolerance, and having respect for everyone. Newbies are welcome. Games are always free. Having the rules is never required. And for social games like this, characters will be provided. All you need to do is show up, ready to have some fun. Also, just a note that, as these Game Day! games I'm running are to offer folks a chance to take a break from isolation and safely socialize and have fun, it's important that anyone seeking to join confirms that they are firmly free this Tuesday. Fortunately it's not hugely prevalent, but ghosting and last minute drops take a slot away from someone else that could have used a game day break. Don't be that person. Stay safe!
