Shadowrun missions any groups out there/anyone interested in starting one?

Just recently came back to sr after a long hiatus and have been reading about sr missions s5. Chicago sounds awesome bug city man! I haven't played or gmed sr in over 15 years but would be willing to run for a group, possibly with alternating GMs? Let me know if there is any interest. I've got a kid so it would be shorter sessions, pretty much any day other than Wednesday.
Id be interested in helping ya out here as a co GM for ya. Im currently open any day other than thursdays, fridays and sundays. Im currently in a SR 5th edition group and would love to expand my experience into more archetypes.

I'm very new to Shadowrun (played a one-off for the first time yesterday) I probably wouldn't be able to GM or at least I wouldn't be able to do it very well, though I'm not sure. I'm not available Monday and I'd prefer to keep to weekends! No prob if those are deal breakers, hope you find your runners!
Thanks guys this sounds like it could be promising: I'm not sure if you are familiar with missions (its the living campaign put out by catalyst for play at conventions and such). There is a primer available for free download at: http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.ph... there are a few slight limitations on starting character rules. My thoughts would be to do season 5 which is centered around "project take back" in Chicagom thought I think we would start with an original one off primer to work the rust off. I stumbeled upon missions through the critical glitch shadowrun podcast, specifically this episode which is what got me all jacked up for Chicago http://criticalglitch.com/?p=413 . Also a read the rules on how to post in this fourm after I posted: I'm in UTC -4, I think we could probably set something up for a Saturday afternoon (seems to be a commonly available time). Maybe try something as a one off prior to jumping into the full campaign. I'm going to wait to see if there is much more interest before booking anything formally, so keep your eyes peeled. Cheers, Ken
Sounds good to me. What are your restrictions for characters? I think ill attempt my hand at playing as a Troll Shaman or maybe as a Troll Mystic Adept.
Hey I would like to play shadowrun. I don't have much experience with the cyberpunk genre or shadowrun but it seems very interesting. I am CST and would be available most days after 6pm, sooner on weekends. Let me know!

@john no restrictions...Albeitt everything comes down to my final discretion. The link above has the character creation limitations. Off the top of my head there is a limit on gear ratings and some pos/neg qualities sent allowed. @Andry if you have the books have a read through it... I would recommend reading/listening to one of the links above.

Also interested...preferably friday or saturday evenings. I'm kicking around some ideas for a Parkour adept B&E specialist...but I'm flexable.
This sounds like its going to be fun... I'd like to get a group of 6 together, because without doubt there will be attrition. So I'll start up a group and schedule something for next Saturdayto run a primer mission I'm working on. If folks wanna roll up or dust off characters that would be great! Roll your characters up normally, but don't choose contacts, knowledge skills and you can only spend the street level amounts of neuyen ( don't worry we will finish character creation in the primer adventure).
I would interested in joining your game if you've got any room left. I am also new to Shadowrun, but I am familiar with the system's setting and I have been intersted in it for a while now( I am familiar with the cyberpunk genre and have even played Cyberpunk 2020 if that is relevant). If given the chance, I'd probably play an eccentric rigger with a weird sense of humor.
Sounds good Gary, it looks like quite the eclectic group forming up here. How does 3pm utc-4 sound for this Saturday. I'm going to set aside 3 hrs, but the end of that may just be finalizing character creation. This will be voice based, does everyone have skyp?
Still got room? Buddy and I are looking to get back into SR.
Ok gonna call this as full for now.
In case you lose anyone, got a 300BP decker/hacker I worked on for a few weeks but unfortunate that game fell through.
Hey James, that sounds like SR 4th BP. I may be wrong. We've lost a few so you are welcome to join if you are interested in 5th ed.
never played the game, unless you count the old Genesis game or the recent pc game that came out last year. Id like to try someday but would totally need help with making character and whatnot.

Hey Eric, if you have the 5ed core book you can do it that way, otherwise you can find the quick start rules which include a few premades on the catalyst website (the same site as shadowrun returns). Let me know if you are interested we are playing Saturday at 3pm. If you are interested and don't want to use a pregen, I can help you out sometime today.
Sweet Jesus if there's room I'm fucking desperate.
I've only ever played the video game, but since then I've browsed the subreddit constantly and have wanted to play for a while now. It's not my first game ever, I've played about 300 hours of TRPGs. I've been looking for groups that suit my time zone, this would work well. If anyubody drops please give me a shout.
Id like to express interest. Never played 5th though. Favorite character I ever made was an Orc Physical Adept, gave him all abilities that let him move up/across things he shouldnt, or able to root in place.. And gave him heavy weapons... Instead of a monk , like everyone makes them usually, I made my Adept into a mobile heavy weapons platform. Was fun to run up a building and across wires shooting a Panther assualt cannon...
Hey Everyone, we may be looking for 1 -2 players to fill out the team, we had a few dropouts. Team could use some bang bangs, a face or some magic support. I'll be able to confirm tomorrow. Running Chasing the Wind (hopefully get thought the whole thing on Saturday afternoon at 2:00PM. This is 5th Edition, post here with your character concept.
Can you elaborate on what kind of magical support you're looking for?
Any magic.
So a phys adept with astral perception able to beat up on astral things with astral combat would be enough for your needs?

If you want to play it, remember, we're in Chicago.
Couldn't tell you, considering the amount of info actually out there about the state of Chicago in 5th is pretty laughable. Anything specific that makes you think this is a bad idea over say, a full mage?
Not really (I'm new to the system), but from what I've heard, the astral plane or whatever is much more dangerous than most other places.
That doesn't mean I discourage it though, we don't even have a mage.
Chicago got blasted with fab-3, which means its like and astral mine field. BG ratings vary from place to place and you have the chance to come across many voids or fluxes. (BG counts make for negative pool modifiers for magical actions)
Do they? So far Background and all that hasn't even been introduced in 5th Ed. Missions was made for use with no more than Fifth Edition Core Rules, and the Magic Chapter there barely goes into magical environments beyond the most basic Astral. The Prep Files don't really explain much either, so really unless the actual pdf for Chasin' The Wind (which I don't have) has a huge magic rules chapter, I feel like I'm mostly flying blind here. Considering it's an Adept though, seems to me like my biggest problem would simply be the risk of going Dual-natured while perceiving due to Strain III. You asked for magical support though, right? So what were you thinking of?
Im gming so really I'd leave group composition to the broader well, group. Magic support is a current gap. I could see a physical adept fitting in, I could also see a dedicated mage fitting in well too. Advanced warning we are all fairly new to the whole sr5 thing, but the mission does provide a brief overview on BG count mostly summarized for you in my previous post. We've given folks till the end of tommorow to get back to me so I can let you know then if the spot is actually open.
Honest, the group- is pretty easy, you make a character you want to play, (hopefully magic related), we'll see how we like it.
