Resizing Tables

Hello, I'm going nuts with these tables. They seem to have a mind of their own on column width. I just want to create a "fixed width" set of columns, so there aren't like 40 characters of blank spaces between text and column border. How do I either resize a table, and/or, create a fix width table? Eg. This horrifying spacing example below. sdfsdfsdfsd wtf?

You can right click the edit window and select "Inspect" to view the HTML. You can then edit the HTML of the table to style the width of the table.  style = "width:auto" As long as you make a change within the table the style attribute will stick
