[Shaped Sheet 5e] Macro basics?

I'm trying to link certain abilities to attacks on a character sheet (i.e., linking a Rogue's Sneak Attack to their attack action). I'm finding a lot of advanced information on how to use macro calls, but no basic information on how to actually create the macros TO call. I'm feeling a bit like a freshman walking into a graduate course - can someone point me toward more easy-to-understand tips?
In your specific use-case, it's honestly probably a lot easier just to create a second set of your weapons, in the attacks section in the middle, to have sneak-attack damage built-in.  It will allow you to pick a regular attack or a sneak-attack attack instead of hitting a second macro, and will have the damage already totaled in a single number for you, as well as being doubled on a crit. As far as I know, you can't reference or call entries in the 'Features & Traits' section, directly, though you could duplicate the macro text for them  (meaning you would have to manually update that macro text any time it changed, like Rogue's Sneak Attack dice)
