Hello, welcome to Bastion! We are an established long term group of five (four players, one DM) who have been playing together for years. We have all developed a strong bond playing together and have become friends outside of the game. We have a discord server (with waaaaay too many channels for five people) where we talk and plan in between sessions and more or less get along well. We are looking for another player who fits in well with our style and for whom our style works in return. A Bit About The Game: The following website is still under construction a bit but serves as a decent setting book for our campaign world <a href="https://trevorsandacz.wixsite.com/realms-of-bastion" rel="nofollow">https://trevorsandacz.wixsite.com/realms-of-bastion</a> This is a whole different setting, and anything that is true either about lore or rules for another setting like Forgotten Realms or Eberron does not apply to Bastion. The Race pages replace all races from the official books. If a race isn’t present on the site it’s because they don’t exist in Bastion. We have been playing the current campaign for about a year and a half with roughly as much time left to see it through to the end. It is a very dragon focused campaign, with many dragon centric themes and the majority of the party being draconic in some way. (Cleric of a Draconic Order, a Paladin of Bahamut, a Half-Dragon, etc.) The party is currently level 10 and coming up on a good point to introduce new characters. We are not playing the Tyranny of Dragons campaign books, I am using some elements from those adventures but this is a 98 percent original campaign based around player decision and action. Our style of play is to create a set of characters with goals, which will play out in the world around the players and link in with personal backstories as we go. Every decision the players make will impact the story in incredible ways. We’ve made the entire world of Bastion, thought out every detail, but I can't have it’s most important characters without you. A Bit About What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who will fit in with us well, and more importantly for whom we are a good fit. We all intend to keep playing together for quite some time and are hoping for a long term addition to the group. If you are hoping for a quick startup to jump into right away this weekend we will not be what you’re looking for. Our games are 5th edition DND and heavily emphasize roleplaying. We're looking for players who create characters as people with goals and desires and truly enjoy getting in character. We like to run one-shots with new players so that they can get a feel for us and vice versa. For the interest of your application, if you include an optional character concept think about a Level 5 adventurer who is a member of a Mercenary organization as a hook. This will be a good chance for us to get an idea of the type of character you might like to come up with, without necessarily marrying you to this concept forever. Lastly, please tell us all about you in your post! We tend to prefer longer applications that have a little more detail so we can get to know the person. If we think it might be a good fit we will reach out to set up a sort of interview and then go from there giving both parties the chance to feel one another out. A Bit About The Details: -We play every Sunday, from 1300 EST to about 1900-2000 EST. Sometimes shorter sometimes later depending, though we usually stick to roughly that timeframe or under it. -We use both video and voice via Discord. -We did get a video application once, which was wild and unique, but don't feel like you are expected to go that OTT. Say as much or as little as you want, so long as you feel like it's enough to tell us what you want to know about you! -Material from outside the PHB, including other published books, is usually handled on a case-by-case basis and may not work for this setting. The Artificer class is a good example of official material that we don’t use. Homebrew found on the internet that is not official WOTC content is never used. -While Bastion is our main game, we do take a break and try out other settings on occasion.
