Welcome, strangers, to Arbor’s Rest! The oldest and most respected establishment east of Neverwinter (at least, the locals like to think so). I am thrilled to be your DM and look forward to the fun. Please read the house rules before applying.


House Rules
1. The most important rule, in all of D&D, is mutual respect. In order to set the conditions for enjoyment, players must be conscious of their interactions with other players and the DM. Rudeness will not be tolerated; this is not a max-min event, nor a contest over who knows the most about D&D. Players of all styles and experience are welcome as long as they are respectful and patient when mistakes are inevitably made.

2. The only rolls done in-game will be the d20 rolls. I do not require (nor do I prefer) in-game character sheets and auto-calculations. Part of the magic of D&D is adding your own modifiers and scanning your character sheet in anxious anticipation! Mutual trust is also critical to having a good time. If I suspect foul play, the PC will be corrected. If it persists, the PC will simply suffer a stroke and die.

3. Have fun! If you’ve read the 5th Edition Player’s Handbook, you know that immersion is more important than religious adherence to the rules. I will be the gatekeeper; if I think it works for the adventure without unbalancing the mechanics, I will permit it.

Application:

Please include your character's name, race, class, and background. Prepare a 5th edition character sheet (Level 1; I prefer Forged Anvil but I will accept any format) and email it to andrew.visscher@gmail.com. I will not accept your application until I have your character sheet in my inbox for review. NOTE: You may use either the array or traditional rolling method to determine ability scores; I trust you and will be reviewing all character sheets.

All 5th edition races, classes, and backgrounds are permitted. Homebrews will be accepted upon review (and possible revision).
