Gaming as a DM/Referee/GM since 1977.
Cishet Retired US Navy.
Pronouns: (He/Him)

As a GM (Which is what I mostly do) I like to run Post-Apocalypse, Grim & Gritty Fantasy, and Space Opera science fiction campaigns with heavy narrative elements.

My favorite Game Systems are:
Cyberpunk Red, Traveller (Mongoose 2e, 2022 Update), One Ring, Call of Cthulhu 7e, Star Wars FFG, D&D 5th Edition, Star Trek Adventures (Modiphius), Star Trek (LUG), and Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire, Twilight:2000 4th Edition, Bladerunner, and Dune.

I also enjoy Westerns (Boot Hill), Post-Apocalypse- either military (BattleTech) or science fantasy (Gamma World), Espionage RPGs like Conspiracy X, James Bond, or Spycraft 2.0

I am currently on Roll20.net, running the following campaigns:

  1. FREE to Play, Bladerunner RPG. RP-Heavy, set in 2037 Los Angeles between the time period of both Bladerunner Films. 10 PM-Midnight,EST WEDNESDAY NIGHTS, online via Roll20 . (Have 3 players, Currently Recruiting) This game has been running for 4 sessions.

Thinking of gearing up a Traveller (Mongoose), D&D 5e, or Game of Thrones, or Dune game. Dune looks promising. I am also going to get the new D&D this fall.

Welcome to my mind.

GM Preferences:
Combat Frequency
Casual: Story based combat encounters, with logical side encounters, and minimal random encounters.

Combat Style
Advanced: Encounters exploit mechanics, strategy, movement. Failure to overcome these challenges results in losses or rare death for your character.

Story and Significance
Story-Driven: Encounters are related to detailed plots and conflicts. Key details could mean the difference between life and death.

Story Type
Intrigue: I design Encounters around shifting political loyalties and uncertain motives. Enemies in these encounters may not show their faces or may not be obvious.
AND
Adventurer: I design Encounters around mysteries and strange events. Untangling these stories will provide much-needed information.

Treasure Importance
Casual: Loot is uncommon. Magic items are sparse to rare but powerful. Surviving as an adventurer is a dangerous life, sometimes forced on you by circumstance.

Game Pace
Easy Going: The game is always moving forward with overlapping events, adventures, or quests, but I still space events out. There may be time for training and research, but you never know what might come up next week. If an opportunity comes up, you might not want to turn it down, as it may be a while before the next knock on the door comes. Combat encounters can happen but infrequently (30%) do.

Advancement
Easy Going: Leveling is more common. Players can expect to level several times in a year of the game depending on the events of the game.

Game Play Tone
Serious: We play the game and only the game. No dick jokes. Limited puns. Limited out-of-character comments.

Metagaming Tone
Easy Going: Everyone tries to remember not to use real-world knowledge or decide actions based on what page the Monster Manual is open to currently. The party comes together semi-organically with an overriding theme.
