Over the past three years, the people of Duvik’s Pass have burrowed into the ground seeking the wealth therein. Able-bodied folk from neighboring villages flocked to the town, hoping to lend their strength within the mines and garner some share of the prize. Hope and industry turned to despair and potential ruin with the advent of the Burning Plague four months ago. It began quietly enough, with the miners returning home from their work at nightfall complaining of blistering sores and an unbearable thirst. Shortly thereafter, the town’s livestock was decimated by an unknown illness and its crops began to wither. The elders of Duvik’s Pass declared that the well water had been soured by an unknown disease, but by then the Burning Plague had already begun claiming the young and the sickly. The village elders are certain that something is wrong with the mine. Villagers have been sent to make contact with the few miners left up at the mine, but none have returned. Can you help the village of Duvik's Pass discover what has come to pass at the mine and cleanse the mountain of the Burning Plague? The Burning Plague is a 3.5 edition D&D module from Wizards of the Coast that I've updated for 5th edition D&D. This adventure is a dungeon crawler with very little role playing. This is a game for 4 players at level 1. We'll complete this adventure in a single session lasting 3-4 hours. This adventure is perfect for beginner players who want to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons! Learn the basic game mechanics while playing through a fun and engaging encounter with other beginner players and experienced players. We'll spend a little bit of time at the beginning going over how to interact with the Roll20 interface and the different parts of the character sheet. You'll choose your character and then we'll play through a short adventure! We'll be using a 27 point buy for stats. Players have starting class equipment available to them. Player inventories will be subject to DM approval. Feel free to use any D&D official source material, except "Ravnica", "Eberron", "Theros", "Wildemount", and Unearthed Arcana. Also, feel free to import your own character! We'll be playing this game on Roll20, but we'll use Discord for audio. Players will receive the Discord server link when the start time approaches. Please have your character sheet ready to go at the start time! If you're totally new and aren't comfortable creating a character, you don't need to worry about preparing anything for this adventure.
