Three hundred years ago, the forces of nature seemed to turn on the great coastal city of Porthaven. The elements threatened to tear the city asunder with terrible earthquakes, violent storms, devastating floods, and a lava-spewing volcano! A powerful mage, determined to save Porthaven, set out across the multiverse to find allies who would be willing to aid his beloved city. After much searching, he encountered mechanical beings who detested chaos and prized maintaining order above all else. These were the Modrons. The mage enlisted the help of the modrons to build a powerful arcane device near Porthaven - one powered by the very elements that had nearly destroyed the city. Then the modrons and the mage mysteriously disappeared, leaving the esoteric device behind... Centuries have passed, the device has fallen into disrepair, and the elements once again threaten the fair city of Porthaven. A precocious young mage has determined that raw elemental material is needed to power the machine, and the only way to obtain such material is to travel to the elemental planes themselves! Can you travel to the planes of Air, Water, Earth, and Fire to find the resources necessary to power the device, or will Porthaven finally be destroyed through the Force of Nature? Force of Nature is a 3.5 edition D&D module from Wizards of the Coast that I've updated for 5th edition D&D. This adventure focuses on combat and has very little NPC interaction. This is a game for 4-5 players at level 18 ! We'll complete this adventure in a single session lasting approximately 4 hours. We'll be using a 27 point buy for stats. Players have starting class equipment, as well as 10,000 gp for weapons, armor, sundries, spell components, and common magic items. Players may also choose two uncommon and one rare magic items for free (separate from the allotted gold), priced per the Discerning Merchant's Price Guide . Player inventories will be subject to DM approval. Players may use D&D official source material from Player's Handbook , Volo's Guide to Monsters , Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes , Xanathar's Guide to Everything , Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide , Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft , or any of the campaign or campaign companion books (e.g. Hoard of the Dragon Queen or Elemental Evil Player's Companion ). Feel free to import your own character! We'll be playing this game on Roll20, but we'll use Discord for audio. Players will receive the Discord server link when the start time approaches. Please have your character sheet ready to go at the start time! Again, we're playing at level 18 , so it will take some time to create your character.
