This issue has been plaguing me for about a couple weeks, and restarting the PC, clearing all the caches and just about every solution I can accomplish on my end has been tested, figured I'd bring it up and see if this issue is affecting other people too.

What browser is this happening with? I just checked with Chrome and it works properly both in page settings and through the new toolbar that appears when on the map layer. Remember that Chrome and Firefox are the only browsers supported by Roll20. If this is any other browser, the first solution offered will be to try using one of those. Edit: I suggest posting a bug report here: https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/requests/new Although this forum is called Bug Reports and Technical Issues , posting a help request will get your issue seen faster.
Sounds good. I'll take a look. Though I do understand that Chrome and Firefox are the supported browser types (Likely why this issue is occurring for me I suppose) Roll20 simply does not function properly on those platforms for me, either they are lagging into oblivion with a basic setup, or they simply don't load altogether. Edit: I actually just made the attempt to use Chrome instead of my browser Opera GX, and the issue persists there as well. So it's not browser based at the very least.
I've often heard of Opera GX users having difficulties with Roll20. (The company that owns that browser makes me want to avoid it, but that's me) If web security is your main reason for using Opera GX give the DuckDuckGo browser a try. I have one player that uses it and the only problem they've had so far is with manually adding items to the equipment list on the D&D 5E for Roll20 Legacy sheet, and a rare instance that I as GM can handle for them. As for problems with lag using Chrome and Firefox, have you tried the usual diagnostic methods?: Clearing cache, disabling add-ons, with and without a vpn, white-listng the site under any anti-malware that you have running, checking that WebGL is working ( https://get.webgl.org/ ) and ensure that your browser is using hardware acceleration.

Hi Hellishcaos, What is the version number of your Chrome? Do you have any extensions enabled in Chrome? Which operating system are you using?
To respond to the both of you. I have done all of the primary diagnostic methods on both platforms, cache, add-ons, vpn on and off, as well as whitelisting with my anti-malware and enabling hardware acceleration. Currently using Windows 11 and the only extensions I have are for ad-blocking. Which isn't something I have issues with on the platform since I pay. Or atleast, that's what I am aware of. I originally thought it was just an Opera GX issue, but the bug seems to persist across all browsers for me even after going through all these steps. So I reached out to roll20 to seek help as well since this might be an issue with the operating system.

Which browsers have you tested? "all browsers" would be a very large number of browsers. :)
Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, pretty much all the mainstream browsers that I am aware of.

Ok, since it is that many different browsers I'd double check that your ad-blocker isn't interfering. As a diagnostic test please try to completely disable the ad-blocker(s). Unfortunately (fortunately?) I don't use Win11 on my primary machine. I'll have to grab my Win11 laptop later on (gaming soon) and test with that.

Very strange. I also turned off all my ad-blockers and web-based add-ons and its still like that. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this with Roll20 support, because it seems to be a very deep-seated issue that I do not know the solution to. To respond to you Simon, My version for Chrome is the newest one. I.E. Version 153.0.8010.37 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Putting down an update here for those who are curious! The Roll20 team has found that this is a code issue on their end and are working on a fix. Thank you to everyone who offered help and advice!
