D&D Compendium (2014, 2024) broken?

Howdy, so I paid for D&D 2014 content and for example I'm currently searching for a list of simple ranged weapons on the compendium, the link takes you to a page with the words 'Simple Ranged Weapons' beginning to feel like spending any money on D&D products is feeling like a waste when I can't access the information I paid for. I have the physical books, my thought process was that having the digital option would be quicker. This isn't the only time where using the analogue or a google search has been quicker and more to the point. Kinda feeling like I've been ripped off honestly. What's the point if my players cannot browse this information and access it to make their characters etc. It feels like these products may have been mis-sold. I hope more functionality will be returned to the compendium soon, and that this may just be a bug or perhaps something wrong with my account. Heck maybe it's user error, but searching for stuff in the compendium feels like a waste of time. Apologies for ranting some but its frustrating. Thanks Skaldja.
The compendium search has always been pretty awful.  I highly recommend creating a Demiplane account and syncing the accounts between Roll20 and Demiplane. After syncing the accounts, you will see the core books for both the 2014 and 2024 rulesets, if you have both of them on Roll20. The books are much easier to read on Demiplane and the search is a little better. I recommend starting with basic terms and then narrowing down the results based upon what appears.
I'll second Oginme's suggestion. The compendium search function is near useless unless you know the exact item that you are looking for. If I'm looking for something to drop to the VTT or onto a character sheet, I usually do a Google search then use the results of that to find the item in the compendium.
