Now tell that to a colony that's spent eighteen months without a supply ship. The mass relays were damaged in the final battle. Systems that once lived a few minutes apart are effectively stranded. People have rebuilt what they could. Others have discovered that isolation suits them just fine. Restoring a relay doesn't merely reopen a route; it changes the balance of power on both sides. A Council-directed expedition, commanded by Spectre Ashley Williams, is working its way back into the network. It can reach a dead relay from an active one. Getting home is another matter: the target must be repaired and brought online first. The crew's field team has to make that happen, and deal with everything waiting at the other end. Two specialists are already aboard: a krogan Vanguard and an elcor Soldier. There are two places for people with something else to bring to the mission. Perhaps you're an engineer, a negotiator, an infiltrator, a physician, or a veteran with a very particular idea of what the galaxy owes its survivors. Your species and history should inform how you see the rebuilding—not decide your personality for you. This is a continuing Mass Effect story with tactical action, politics, exploration, familiar faces and real consequences for reconnection.
