I've gotten this error a couple times since last night, and so has a friend of mine. It seems to happen when trying to open a character sheet. When I exit the game to try and clear the error, Roll20 drops me all the way back to the login screen instead of just exiting the game. I'm running Mozilla and my friend is running Chrome.
