Yeah, it's normal. And one more place the 2024 sheet loses capability that the 2014 sheet has. Although it was never a good solution. What you can do with the 2014 sheet, is change the token to have a namplate that is not the name on the sheet (like "Guard", or in this case just calling the boss a "Goblin") and put "@{selected|token_name}" in the name field on the sheet, which uses the value of the nameplate in chat. Then uncheck nameplate. Then select the token before rolling. If you did all that, then you'd get the text typed in the nameplate field in chat. I used to use it, but eventually gave up because it was too much work during the game. Unfortunately, the 2024 sheet doesn't use an independent field for the monster name, so if you do that, it renames the NPC sheet itself "@{selected|token_name}", which isn't terribly helpful. But, bottom line, I'm not aware of any way to get a name other than the sheet's into a chat roll when rolling from the sheet. The quick-and-dirty fix is to rename your "Goblin Boss" sheet to "Big Goblin" and keep your other goblins as "Goblin", which does give away that this goblin is special. But that tends to be true of leaders, they've got better armors and weapons if they are human, and they are bigger and tougher for the more physical humanoids, like Goblins. So its reasonable for an alert party to be able to pick out who is giving the orders, without getting a clear definition of how much tougher they are.
